when i bought my apexi it came with one. i still have it, but couldnt tell you the last time i put it in. it does make a noticeable difference when its in. its nearly the same tone, just turns the volume down. it does decrease power a tad. on the dyno it was around 3hp and 7tq. somewhere...
exactly what aaron said. besides the solenoids, it could be a problem w/ the speed sensors. if your speedo doesnt work, it will set a code for sp1.
i also want to add you need to fix this asap. if the ect sets a code it will go to default shift schedule. that means, it wont upshift...
w/ the maf-t it really needs the isc since it isnt map based. you need to tap the isc anywhere between the maf sensor and the throttle body.
for the ffim it would be easiest just to make a remote mount unit.
what i was talking about was the IDL circuit. it could be a problem with the tps and adjusting it all day long may not fix it. take an ohm meter and connect it from E2 to IDL. it should be 0 ohms or very low when the throttle is closed. when you open the throttle slightly it should be open...
vonda-
isnt your car auto?
if so, sounds like your neutral safety switch is going out. mine used to do the same thing.
it could also be the starter.
one thing you could do is hook up a long wire to the starter signal wire. when it wont start, tap the wire to the battery and see if...
i had that problem. it would rev fine but anytime you would try to drive the rpms wouldnt go over 1500 and just kept bouncing.
it was the IDL circuit in the tps. try adjusting the tps, swap in another tps if you have one, or just unplug the tps and see if anything changes.
i have yet to find an electrical oil pressure gauge i like. either that dont work for crap or the graduation is too high.
i have since moved to a mech oil pressure gauge and very happy. its hooked up on a stainless line. under no circumstance would i use that crappy plastic line for it...
figgie-
you are probably one of the few people that dont make fun of me for having a "racing seat" and factory belts. sure, i have a 5pt, but they are not in use til the 8pt goes in.
i dont know that i agree about the hans device tho. i do agree they rock, and surprisingly comfortable...
i thought it was a little overkill too. but on sean's sp67 there was a noticeable power increase going from 3" to 4". i dont remember the exact dyno numbers, cant search on supraforums.
i think he still has the dyno charts, i'll see if he will post them.
traction, gearing and shifting will play a big part in et vs mph. i have 2 slips where i ran a 9.01@88 lol
incidently, i ran against a guy in a turbo mustang. he ran a 8.0@79
also, as far as 02's and race gas. i use a spacer on my bung so the 02 sits out of the direct airstream. there...
thanks for the pics steve!
im not a member of imagestation so i cant make them actual size. they are kinda like big thumbnails.
more pics!! im still bummed i had to miss it :(
yeah ls1's really like headers and exhaust upgrades.
congrats on the times! real close to 7's. if you didnt know, you can get a pretty good idea of 1/4mi time by taking your 1/8mi et X 1.5
wanna race my vette before i hang some turbos off of it? ;)
just wanted to mention-
jake's turbo is a 4067, which is different than the pt67.
but i think its close enough you could atleast get some ball park ideas.
also, whether or not 12psi is its highest effeciency range, i think its kinda worthless to run it that low.
yeah i searched around over there some too, but couldnt find any info. i even made a thread and didnt get any responses.
you know im not one to give up quickly on anything. but just could not figure out what was causing the surge. we did try to hook it up to the top port to see if anything...
i think your decision to swap to a smaller spring is a good one.
but one last thought here. i think once you throw in some high octane and high boost you are going to be hooked. once you feel that setup then go back to pump gas and lower boost your car will feel broken lol. clear out a...
