    saving my pennies

you can't ref a 1jz. a 2jz from a pre-95 SC300, with 5spd ECU and trans (if you're 5spd) will work fine, and as long as you dont mess with the emissions will be able to be reffed rather easily.

    Infuriating Brake Job

sounds like there's blockage/corrosion in the hydraulic system either inside the caliper itself (common) or between the caliper and the BMC (rare) does your car have ABS? if so that might have been the problem.

What suspension am I looking for?

im always a fan of coilovers, if you're not tracking the car, (and some will argue, even if you are) some Megan coils will do you good.

    ARP Studs...

i bought mine from 935 like 2ish weeks ago, so i'm planning on just using whatever's on the sheet. i know how it goes with n00bs pulling info and "facts" out of dubious or no sources. i'm new to SM but i've been on CL, SF, TN, and a few other forums for a good long time and know how it goes...

    Foglight colors

intensity and throw are independent of eachother, as you can increase intensity and aim the throw so it is still a foglight. hell even Hella makes HID foglights, but they're ~$500-700+

    new carpet?

mine's just dirty as congress so i'll prolly spend a day steam cleaning/carpet cleaning it to hell, and then dye it black :D or just take it out completely, who needs carpet anyways. Lotus, ferrari, and lamborghini sell models for EXTRA monies without carpet :p

    ARP Studs...

so correct order for stud install is: head off block, chase/old tap through threads, using air blow out crap in holes, put headgasket/head back on block, insert studs through head, tighten to hand tight with allen wrench, torque washers/nuts in factory order (3-4 steps up to 90ft/lbs). i've...

    Foglight colors

i've got HID fogs in a few of my cars, and if aimed properly (which 90% of people dont do) they wont blind oncoming traffic.

Looking for ideas for a secret service/valet switch

a lot of piggybacks and standalones will let you have multiple maps off a switch and/or a valet mode, but not just boost controllers from what i've seen.

Ways to check for a BHG?

if you arent at least somewhat above average in mechanical knowledge and experience working on cars, dont attempt it. look at a couple of the guides up on the forum, and the TSRM, see if its something you'd want to tackle yourself.

Ways to check for a BHG?

what color is the smoke? if it goes away a minute or two after startup its more likely oil in the cylinders due to leaky/dying valve stem seals.

Strange things found while working on Supras.

i've only started tearing into mine but i've found some REALLY REALLY crappy stereo/amp wiring, a completely rusted through multi-tool, and a nearly mint set of tools/jacks. oh, and a bhg :p, but i knew that was coming. i'll be pulling my carpet and seats out soon lol

Quick newber question on the different differentals

how many junkyard MA70 LSDs do you see are "properly functioning"? :nono: i'll venture to say that VERY VERY few mk3 supra's had their LSD rear end clutch plates replaced, hell most have never even had their fluid changed  plus all the factory LSD toyota ever made (afaik) were 1-way or...
