i have come to the point where i want to start thinking about a rebuild or a new motor. i have been saving my monies for some kind of engine overhaul. i have not decided on what to go with. right now im driving on a 7MGE with 110 average compression in all cylinders:3d_frown:.

what motor(s) can i put into my car without having any legal issues in cali?

you can't ref a 1jz.

a 2jz from a pre-95 SC300, with 5spd ECU and trans (if you're 5spd) will work fine, and as long as you dont mess with the emissions will be able to be reffed rather easily.

so my options are...

2jzge
2jzgte
7mgte

from what i understand 2jz is cheaper to built up because of the huge parts availability. im looking for low end torque and high end HP, so a 7m might be best for me?

i was looking at 7mpower.com's top 10 and i really like the power curve of this car

http://www.7mpower.com/orian_iglesias.shtml

i saw another site with 2jz 1jz and 7m block records but cant find it can anyone direct me to it?

just remember, unless you somehow get yours hands on a reasonably priced USDM Supra 2jz-gte motor, you're confined to using Lexus 2jz-ge's. reason being most "JDM" 2jz-gte's are aristo motors, and dont have ANY of the requisite emissions equipment, as well as lack a CA spec ECU. or a VIN for that matter.
