bit of a newb question, but what are people using in the way of boss kits here in the US? I know HKB do one out of Japan but i'd like to know what is on offer in the US for our cars, preferably to match up with a Sparco steering wheel (I think they are same pattern as momo). If anyone can...
here's an updated photo of my fitment. i went down to a 235/40 at the front and a 265/35 at the back so that i could lower it some more. Doesnt rub on the fenders at all, perfectly functional and I even went to the road course like this. specs are 18x10 +22 rear and 9 +15 front
Thanks Andrew, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to do any timing due to the above issue. My first time out there a couple of years ago in my RZ I managed 1.25s but this car has tones more suspension work and better tyres with the same amount of power so it should be capable of somewhere in...
thanks guys, I'm going to pull the coils out on wednesday (day off) and inspect the extent of the damage and go from there. I think heat shrink will be the best method as its a bit neater than that epoxy or liquid electrical stuff. Hopefully it sorts the issue, hoping its not a deeper electrical...
finally got the chance to debut the supra at the race track today for a practice session at Mallala. I've been running around like a mad man for the past 3 weeks trying to sort a lot of lose ends in order to prepare the car, which included sending it in for a full re-map. the final result with...
mother of god that turbo is huge! I like the black cam covers against the HKS gear, you've convinced me there. is that a custom gearbox mount? looks factory. well done man, when will it start?
They are Lenso D1R, rear are 18x10 +22, front is 18x9 +15. tyres in the pics are 245/40 on the front and 275/35 rear. i've since gone to a 235/40 on the front and will probably use a 265/35 at the back just to match it up. My fenders have been rolled, but I need to pull the fronts a bit more so...
looking at all these hot 'n dumped supras has really emphasized the fact that I need to slam my car some more! what are people using to roll fenders these days?
thanks dude, I actually bought the shift knob off the shelf at Elmhurst Toyota when I was there picking up some other parts while I was in Chicago last Christmas. Great bunch of guys, I think it was only $35 with a 30% discount just for being a supraforums.com member. I couldnt believe it lol...
thanks leigh, yeah i'm not sure why no one makes cages like that, i dont think i've ever seen one but it would work well i think. probably much more of a PITA to produce though.
bit of an update on this.
got the car back after a month off the road to have the autronic SM4 and other misc wiring done, followed by tuning. My wiring guy pulled out TONNES of excess crappy wiring that didnt need to be there, and wired in the autronic so that it looks as close to factory as...
I know wilwoods don't have dust seals, they would probably say that was the cause of the problem just because they didn't know what was going on haha. Either that or bitch on about legality issues or something.
haha, i love the synical nature towards the automotive trade, high appropriate with most of the traders out there! have shot ARZ a PM, will see what he says.
it is loud isnt it. it's quite fucking weird, yet the car still stops as it should (brakes need a good bleed, but the noise certainly isnt hurting caliper operation in any way (or doesnt seem to be). I'm at a loss, will have to take it to a braking specialist. Pulling the caliper off myself is...
