    question about steering rack

I have a lightened pump pulley which would mean its under-driven so mine should be a bit heavier also I guess. I will start with unplugging the PPS solenoid first to see if that helps.

    question about steering rack

i think you are mistaking me for someone who doesnt know left from right? perhaps our cars differ quite a lot, mine has had the powersteering rack rebuilt by the previous owner so we may not on a level playing field. My steering is very light and unresponsive and its not down to the suspension...

    question about steering rack

Why do MK3 owners put their cars on the pedestal? I love my JZA70 but im also realistic enough to acknowledge its downfalls. I don't care if the R34 has HICAS or not, poodles asked me to "go drive something else with rack and pinion or older, better cars without it", of which ive done plenty of...

    question about steering rack

have you taken your car to the road course before? The steering is vague and poorly weighted from my experiences, but you seem to be the authority on all things MK3 with your definite statements so carry on. FWIW ive owned and driven a number of vehicles with or without power steering and/or...

    question about steering rack

interesting topic. seemingly very popular with S13s and RX-7 owners but everyone ive spoken to in regard to doing this on the Mk3 has said not to (obviously due to the weight). When you consider that basically every sedan type race car in the world uses powersteering, i'm not quite sure what the...

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

If I didn't have to worry about shipping on some ccw's I'd have some all black classics in 10 and 11 in a heartbeat!

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

I have 1.25 deg front and rear with 9 +15 and 10 +22 on the rear with the same tyres as you Dylan and it's as flush as it gets. That's with a guard roll. I didn't know if the OP had rolled guards so backed off the numbers a little based off my own experiences. My set up is no longer any good for...

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

can get hub centric rings from any wheel and tyre shop. as for spacers, i dont recommend them on any car, but if you wanted decent fitment with those widths and offsets, id suggest something like 20mm front and 25mm rear. that would be close to perfect with a 265/35 on the back and 235/40 on the...

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

yes, offsets will fit but wont be flush with the fender. you will need hub centric spacer rings as the centre bore on the Mk3 is 60.1mm

    1300 Kg Track SUPRA project

really cool man, can it calculate predicted lap times based on splits? do you need a GPS input to make it do the lap times?

josbeat, that unit is awesome, i'm definitely sold on it now, im getting one. perfect for my needs as I dont need massive data logging potential. tell me sir, can it display oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, lap time and speed all at the same time? where did you get the CF mounting plate for...

    1300 Kg Track SUPRA project

so there is a way to make the column adjustable or telescopic? or once you set the length, thats where it stays? Of is that what you meant by using the standard "bearing" at the bottom josbeat? So you can still move the column up and down? the biggest problem with my steering is that it is...

    Desired brake pressure

i'm not sure about the ABS as mine has been deleted. I would think it wouldnt be affected at all though, the booster is disabled by disconnecting and plugging the vacuum line so nothing to do with the electronics or hydraulics of the ABS system...I think.

    Desired brake pressure

yeah usually when you go to an aftermarket arrangement the booster is eliminated for reasons above anyway...

    Desired brake pressure

a proportion valve doesn't actually control bias, it just alters pressure. the only way to truly control bias (other than altering "environmental" conditions, eg weight over rear axle, grippier tires, higher friction pads) is by using a twin master cylinder arrangement (as opposed to the factory...

APR performance in the states do a really nice wing for the jza80 which is 67" (1701mm) wide which I think would suit nicely. I'm sure it could be mated to the A70 with minimal work, otherwise they also do a universal wing in the same width. 1500 USD though but looks like absolute quality...

    Desired brake pressure

i wouldn't bother upgrading to a new master cylinder unless you want proper bias control nick. if you are worried about a lack of feel through the pedal, disable your booster. it's really a matter of how serious you want to get and what you want to use the car for but i'll watch this thread with...

Just found out my thyroid has to be removed

good to hear that whatever it is, they found it early. as somebody said, a pill a day is far better than death at your age. my gf had a thyroid cyst removed about 4 years ago (benign), I myself had a separate cancer issue about 3 years ago (all well now) and have to have CT scans every 6 months...

Anyone "shave" the front nose emblem? Or paint the 90-92 emblem?

I also have the antenna, rear wiper shaved, it is a much cleaner look indeed.
