yes the screw in type are much much cheaper than the stock flange type.
i agree 100% with what you are saying tho. sounds like 02 and cps wiring.
as far as gap, run as large of a gap as you can without misfire. you can probably get away with around a .035 or so.
pt67 ball bearing. it will do mid 500rw on pump gas, mid 600rw on full boost quite easily. spool will depend on the rest of the setup, but w/ a smaller a/r and bb, it should be able to hit full boost right around 4000.

looking at the charts 5250 rpm is right under 100mph.
that is the point where it goes to 13:1
then im guessing around 6k rpm is where it goes to 14:1
nice numbers, dont get me wrong. just a little concerned about the lean points, esp since on the street its going to run a tad leaner than...
im just a big fan of toyota/aisin stuff.
90% of everything that gets replaced on my car (other than performance upgrade) is toyota/aisin. there are a few exceptions, such as the exh manifold gasket, spark plugs, etc.

also, the pt turbos are available w/ a t350 turbine wheel. its a little bigger than an O, but smaller than a P. its a good compromise of spool vs power.
another vote for the bfg g-force sport. currently, i have those sumi htr zii on mine. so far, i like them. i would have gone for the g-force again, but my size is hard to find.
yeah sounds like maybe the cps wiring. if the pins inside the plug from the cps to the harness are loose, it will cause some intermittent issues as well as a code 12.
have you checked the IDL circuit on the tps?

stock pistons are going to be fine for what you want.
i have a hookup w/ a machine shop that will do everything from machine work to assy. pretty quick, good work, and awesome pricing.
do you have the flange w/ the lip? (the one at the bottom above the bolts)
ive seen a few of the clones come without that piece. that has to be installed and w/ the lip facing the wastegate. just making sure.
stock ct, intake, apexi exhast for first. dont remem the boost level. 10-11 or so i think.
second was upgrade ct, intake, exh, ic, fuel and around 14psi
