    Turbo Size psi/volume

It won't be the same, higher up, you will be running a greater pressure ratio to achieve the same manifold pressure. By going from sea level to somewhere way above sea level, you will likely be running at a reduced efficiency, as you start pushing higher up on the compressor map. ;) I always...

Maybe IJ will chime in on how his T04Z ran on his 7M.

    boost ques

The piece around the handle is stock. I drilled a hole in the top of the gauge pod, and installed the handle's mounting screw into it. As for the car, I had a friend that used to do a fair bit of dealings with bringing over private sale cars from Japan. I got him to bring the car over for me a...

    Spot the Differences - 2 "Stock" CT-26's

Are they both Supra turbos? Judging by the difference in the nipple location, one of those might have been off of a Celica one point in its life.

1JZ Crank Sensor and Cam Sensor tecnical questions, for megasquirt/ standalone build

The crank sensor is just a set of teeth. I honestly don't know what the ECU uses it for. you have TWO cam angle sensors. (dual reluctor wheel setup in MS IIRC). One is a 24 tooth wheel, the 2nd is a 2 tooth wheel. Look on the megasquirt forums for "toyota dual wheel" trigger setups.

    oilpan question..

If the pickup's in the way, you just take it off! You need to take it off anyways to get the upper pan off. YES, you can take the full oil pan out with the motor in the car. NO, it's not as hard as it sounds. What you need to do is un-bolt the motor mounts, and pul the motor up as high as...

    Peak warnings (exhaust,water,oil)

you forgot the most important number IJ......... ;) My EGT probe is located right in the collector of my manifold, before it goes into the turbo, and it's all heat wrapped. I usually read 1000-1200f cruising, shooting up to 1400f when hard on it. I set the warning for 1500f.

    Breaks Up at WOT

IJ, I could be pulling this all out of my ass, but I THINK that the JZ ignitor handles dwell itself, based on feedback from the coil and plug (ressitance across spark plug) to calculate charge density within the cyinders, and adjust dwell accordingly. I might be getting confused with my old...

    Need help picking a turbo

I'm curious about how a GT40R would hold up against the GT40. I actually went with the non-R because I could get it in a .81 hotside, where as the GT40R, the smallest could get was a .86. I didn't think the ball bearings would make up for the larger exhaust housing, but I'm curious to see. If...

I can't think of a place off the top of my head. I KNOW there's a company who makes them , but I don't have the link. I had a generic ebay RHD pillar pod in mine for a year or so. I sold it though.

    the truth about 1.5jz

I'm not sure how different it's going to be. I'm going to assume there will be more top-end power simply due to the larger intake valves on the 2JZ head. I also expect more timing advanced due to teh combustion chamber design. I have this feeling spool will be sacrificed slightly with the...

    need help with 1JZ !

The 1JZ has an idle re-learn procedure. By pulling the fuse, you have forced it to re-learn its idle.

    Breaks Up at WOT

he's asking how long the coils are allowed to charge for, and are you allowing them to charge longer when battey voltage falls. because you're running them in waste spark, they might not have enough time to properly charge, as they're running twice as often, causing them to not generate a hot...

That's 600mm of mercury. It converts to about 10psi, which is stock boost. Theer are two wastegates you need to connect to. If you look at the turbos, you will see a small vacuum line going from the compressor housing, to a big cylindrical looking thing witha rod coming out of it (the...

    the truth about 1.5jz

No, the 1JZ does NOT flow better than the 2JZ head. It does however have higher intake gas velicities due to the smaller intake ports, and slightly smaller diameter runners, giving you a little bump in low-end torque. The 1.5JZ isn't better than a full 2JZ however. The only reason most people...

    Need help picking a turbo

My point was that he said he indicated he wanted mid 500s to the wheels (by saying he wanted to keep up with a 546whp cobra), which would be outside the GT40-82 range. Yes, it's going to spool fast, but it's not going to be enough for what he wants unless he wants to make it with a shot of...
