well in all honesty, you should have just looked at the design of those 'coil-overs' and see they are MASSIVE failure....
MK1 has a upper ic pipe with an 'hks' bov, and a short shifter thats been used by quite a few people on here...
show me some proof. or dont say things like that.
cause its ebay stuff... DM sells 'ebay intercoolers' and 935 sells china downpipes... so whats the big deal with mk1's stuff?
im not going to pull my timing belt and all of that stuff until i know its those.
i think i have oil in 5 out of the 6... but im still breaking in the motor, so im going to pull the plugs tomorrow and look, especially after yesterday! haha
and now that i know that the tops of the pistons...
those of you who are using the gasket... and if it has any rubber left on it! lol
i used RTV... and my car does NOT smoke like that. LOL
i would have already pulled my head if it did that... i couldnt bare to look at that in my rear-view mirror...
basically. light smoke on start up, and...
my last supra leaned, at least i think it did... all new bushings up front and everything. brand new springs too. new struts.... never bothered me that much though.
yeah really... you took off the fill plug on the trans and diff to double check? you pulled the dipstick and triple checked it?
i still say post up a video... i dont wanna jump and just say "omfg rod knock" cause it might not be...
i've had a few friends with them, and although i dont own one, i have worked on them more than a few times (always for mods though). and if you want to buy one to modify it, i wouldnt bother... go with an evo or something else. i honestly cant stand how everything is in the wrx/sti... everything...
for compression you have to consider that the specs they used were probably for a STOCK head gasket and a STOCK height everything.
if you have those 9.0:1 JE's in a motor, and you slap a 3mm HKS HG on it, its not going to be 9.0:1 anymore... i did the math for my block and head and...
yeah, i've installed them 100% dry and zero problems... most machine shops like to use a sealer just because. but yea, just make sure you install them correctly and they were nice and tight.
uhhh.... autozone, kragens, napa, or where ever else you can buy spark plugs, just get some NGK coppers and call it a day. i see no reason to go and buy toyota spark plugs...
1.99!!!!
how do you even know its above 20psi??? none of the gauges i've ever seen are in psi... mine on a cold start goes up to the first line, and then when its warmed up after a start, its between that line and the bottom...
we have a high volume low pressure type of oil system... so remember that.
what you mean is that the big ass allen head bolts seal those holes up... and if they are old and havent been checked, then, yes they will leak. but the actual 'gasket' metal thing juts keeps it all 'sealed' and from letting water in and other bad stuff...
im gonna drive it around some more...
