    Putting my supra back together...

I prefer the helicoil. If done properly, it will be stronger than just tapping the aluminum to a bigger size.

    Getting my car running again

Major update! Crank in, pistons in, shimmed oil pump in ARP undercut studs in, oil sending unit, and oil filter housing in. And I got a pretty pic! BTW, the red on top of the deck is NOT rust, it's a trick of the light.

    Transmission won't shift!

Sorry, missed that bit. I have a bad habit of skipping words when I read, as my mind is going too fast for my eyes.

    headgasket spray with felpro?

+1 on that. Works great with a graphite gasket.

got head back from machine shop with notch in it

If the sealing ring of the gasket doesn't touch the pitted spot, you will not have a problem. DO NOT USE JB WELD! It wouldn't work well anyway, and that spot is too close to the combustion chamber to be safe. Since your using a graphite gasket, it will be more tolerant of minor low spots than a...

    Transmission won't shift!

I've never loctited any flywheel, auto or clutch, and I've never had a problem. I gotta believe there's some other issue afoot here. Perchance some type of obstruction between the flywheel and crank, which would cause the flywheel to not seat properly. Check this thread...

    Cylinder head retorque

I've seen it posted on here, that when retorqueing, after cracking the bolt, (or nut), you should torque at least 5 ft lbs higher than previously, to get a more accurate torque. Seems reasonable to me, and that's the way I'm going to do it. Can't remember who posted it though.

    head gasket

No, the stock gasket bore is too small, and will encroach into the cylinder. IIRC, most quality aftermarket gaskets are available with larger bores.

    Getting my car running again

The other day I had an epiphany, gun metal gray! I was about to pickup more gloss black paint for my block, when I saw a can of gun metal gray. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I grabbed it and ran. Painted the block today. The pic don't do it justice.

    Putting my supra back together...

Well, cool for you. You still have to take the water pump off to do it properly. As I said, the small ones are 6x1.00.

    Putting my supra back together...

Well that depend on which bolt you stripped. Was it one of the ones that go thru into the block, or one of the ones that bolt into the aluminum? If its the long ones, 8x1.25 or the short ones 6x1.00 IIRC. I hope for your sake, that it's one of the short ones because if it's one that goes into...

    Getting my car running again

Well, looks like I won't be using the W58 after all, I had to use the slave cylinder on my stepson's car today, and I don't have any money to get a new one. Oh well, A340 for a while longer.:puke:

Code 34 with No Boost at all - New Turbo is all that changed

I blew a small hole in my compressor outlet tubing, and had the exact same symptoms, minus the code, because I knew what the problem was so I didn't read it. Could not accelerate at all, and ran rich as fuck. Barely made it home. look at it this way, compressor pulls X amount of air past the...
