    strange sound from tubo

Sounds like a small boost leak, like a clamp is a little loose, or a small crack in your IC piping. I had a sound like that from a small boost leak before.

FINALLY - Especially for JMDigital - LilMissMkIII's Build

I tried to read your thread, since you read mine, but there's just TOO MUCH! I got eye strain after about page 10. I hope it came out great though.

    intermittent missing...wtf?

Right after I finished my rebuild I developed a missing problem at idle. Turns out to be coil related. I just replace my whole coil pack with another I had around, and problem solved. The engine had no spark issues, when I blew my head gasket, but sitting around for seven months, I guess...

    Getting my car running again

NOT! Got too many other issues to deal with yet, and I've got no money, no job, and not enough gas to get there.

    another A/C problem

Recirculated air gets colder faster, because as the air gets colder, it gets RECIRCULATED, and cooler air passes over the heat exchanger, which makes it colder, and so on, and so on, and so on. Outside air is consistently hot, and will only cool so much as it passes over the heat exchanger only...

    7M-GTE torque numbers.. 80 lb/ft or higher?

I had an idle issue right after my rebuild, turned out to be coil related. I replace my whole coil pack assembly, including wires, and no more idle issue. I could be as simple as that for you too.

    Getting my car running again

Cool! I had to use a bunch of stuff from my stepson's abortion. I got his HKS stopper, and undercut ARP studs, as well as his new water pump, and oil pump. I got a good package deal on the pistons, rings, bearings, and wrist pins, and a fair deal on a gasket set. I needed a new thermostat...

    Stock Boost Gauge not working!!!

Well just be sure you have tight vacuum hoes, cause if any blow off, you won't get any reading with a mechanical gauge either.

    Getting my car running again

About $550.00 all tolled, roughly. That's for all the parts, sealants, paint lubes, and oils, as well as the sandpaper, and related items. As far as the gunmetal, it has a nice sheen to it , so I think I'll be able to tell the difference if something has gotten on the surface.

    7M-GTE torque numbers.. 80 lb/ft or higher?

You don't have to remove the head if it's only the rear timing cover leaking because of no sealant. You can remove the rear timing cover, and apply a copious amount of sealant to the top of the timing cover, and carefully reinstall it. I did it with my build, and it worked perfectly, No Leak...

    Getting my car running again

Update: Whining is not PS pump, but my timing belt tensioner. Just verified by using my blue point stethoscope. Gonna have to get a new one, the others I had were all in bad shape.

    Getting my car running again

Ask, and you shall receive. Sorry about the audio, it sucks. And I really need to do a valve adjustment, shoulda done it while the engine was out of the car, but I was impatient to get the car on the road. The whining is power steering fluid, instead of dexron, that was just dumb...

    Getting my car running again

Did the retorque, and replaced the defective valve guide seal. All is well. Boosting 7 psi on my aftermarket gauge. No leaks, one issue, a stumble a idle. I deduced it was a bad coil, or spark plug wire, so I replace my whole coil pack with another one I had in the garage, and VOILA, stumble...

    Stock Boost Gauge not working!!!

Now get a small zip tie and put it around the hose where it blew off, or replace the hose with a new one, because it will probably blow off again.

    Engine rebuild questions

I've used Permatex The Right Stuff gasket maker with good results, and if you don't have a Toyota dealer nearby, then it would be a good alternative to FIPG.
