I have been running about 18psi since the car was first tuned 2 years ago. The issue of no spark was apparently because the fool who wired in my haltech module ignitor (which was not needed) used a loom designed to be mated with the haltech CDI. That job cost me over $1500 and actually made...
I actually just purchased a brand new OEM non-ABS master cylinder that I was going to use. Is that the 1 and 1/8 size that you are referring to mate? I havent been happy with the pedal feel AT ALL since I got the car but figured id bypass the booster and go un-assisted if modulation is an issue...
ok, so the brembo F50 is a significantly better caliper than the wilwood superlite 4? this is what I thought and probably why the prices are so different. In regards to my setup, ABS has been removed and I probably will add a proportioning valve in the future if I have issues with the bias. TBH...
yeah tell me about it! There are only so many things you can eliminate to get to the crux of a problem and I thought id eliminated just about all of them already haha.
When you say "class 2" Alex, what do you refer to? For instance, the wilwood caliper I have on the front, I know its not a...
No worries, I will take a few pics when i do the instal and throw them up here and/or toymods. Chris reckons it needs a 2mm washer to space the caliper further outboard so ill start with that.
I dont have a part number sorry mate but when I called they said 2004-2008 is all the same for RDA. They just drill two stud patterns. I remember you saying something about different rotor hat heights though but from what the guys told me there was only one part no. I went through Car Parts Plus...
Ended up going with RDA slotted rotors for the rear @ around 300 bucks IIRC. I looked around for ages but those were the cheapest I could find that weren't ridiculous quality. Non slotted was substantially cheaper in RDA too, maybe 80 bucks or so but a machine shop would probably charge that...
I called the tune shop a few days ago and he said he is having an issue with a misfire that they cant diagnose. very frustrating because this has been the same underlying issue with this car for the past 18 months and this time I have had it completely re-wired but the issue persists. I have a...
i also have the AZ 4 pot kit on the front and have all of the components for the rear kit here, just need to fit it when I get my car back. Bias will depend a lot on what pads you use and other factors (weight over rear axles for eg.). I have matched my pads front and rear and will use a...
Correct it is the michelin slick - people seem to rave about them and others talk of them falling off the cliff terribly after 40% use. They were cheap however (I have 10 tyres here that I paid less than 650 for) so they're really just for a bit of fun before I can work out if I can justify...
Haha there are still in there in the pics but I will be pulling them out when i put my harness in!
The front slicks are 250/64/18 from the front of a porsche cup race car but I am going to see if the 270/68/18 fits on the front also (sidewall is too high though I think).
yeah its unfortunate for you guys but obviously its cheaper for the manufacturer to use different diffs than different gearboxes. By the same token, its easier to swap the diff gearing aftermarket than the gearbox :)
^^ I am 90% sure Evo 4, 5, 6 use the same hubs but im not sure why you'd bother with Evo 4 calipers. They are just an ordinary sliding caliper and similar size to the factory A70 caliper...
The problem with that is these cars are already front heavy. You really need to strip as much weight up front before you touch anything in the rear of the car.
I looked at an LSx upgrade earlier this year but to get it to sit right it was going to involve firewall cutting and it was too much...
Perhaps it could althought their dual direct-port injection system is pretty quirky and its all a bit over my head. I expect the top end to be there (the car I drove was VERY new so hadnt been broken in) but the mid-range is the real issue. Should easily be fixable with some breathing mods and a...
