yeah the evo calipers certainly have a banjo bolt so I would assume this will be a problem. Im suprised no one else has posted about/had this problem with the leak? Fck looks like I might have to get some custom made lines afterall.
Phil thats a valid point about radiant heat. With all of the...
Yeah I had thought about the shield/duct combo as I was going to do some ducting anyway, probably a fiddly little project though. Any links to online stockists of the protective wraps you are talking about? Id be interested to see what it looks like and how its applied.
Poodles are you speaking from personal experience? Plus, i'd like to think if you are punting your car around a race track regularly, then you would be routinely checking vital components for signs of wear. A destroyed boot is pretty obvious.
fair point, although 115 is not the same as 1000 at the track. I've asked race shops about tie rods/ball joints being so close to hot rotors before and they've not been concerned about it. ive looked at a lot of race cars too and have never seen heat shielding on their rotors.
I bought the driftmotion kit for 100 bucks although I brought them back in my suitcase when I was in Chicago a few months ago so not sure how much postage to Aus would be. Its a front and rear kit (they wouldn't sell me rears alone) but still at least half the price of having rear lines custom...
Yeah I thought about that, hopefully the 15w50 and a few floggings will improve it. The guy who tuned it today said either weld a cage in and go wheel to wheel racing or do a bolt in and stick to club events etc. TBH the paint work is too nice for a race car but reshelling is more expensive than...
thanks mate, I actually drove the car for the first time in 18 months on tuesday when I picked it up from the shop. it was nice to finally drive a supra again although its a different experience with a locked diff and no interior.
I now have a dilemma as to whether I want to go along the lines...
Yeah would look to either .82 v-band or .84 divided I think. I like the idea of the v-band in/out though and definitely ball bearing, no question. What do the quick spool valves do? Are there any disadvantages to their use?
What about the 6265 on a 1JZ? Surely much more headroom with this...
digging this thread back up as the stock turbos on my 1JZ have become a bit smokey so weighing up my options. Ive always liked what I hear about PTs. My car is track orientated and looking for around 600rwhp with head room. Id prefer something that pulls all the way to the redline but dont want...
thanks man, although I have taken a bit of a different direction with this car lately. I have started a new thread for build/discussion here:
http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?159896-JZA70-Time-Attack-Track-and-Street
There arent many pics in there currently because I havent...
Thanks for that info Alex, I will definitely keep an eye on that - quite worrysome. Although, the beech arms look a lot sturdier with larger diameter steel than what's in those pics. The fact that no one has really pioneered these arms on the track yet does concern me as im not the pioneering...
John, any plans to run this in the Group A class at the 2013 Australian F1 GP? I had hoped to catch you there this yr but will be back again in March next yr. Need a Supra in there to break up all the Nissan and BMW in that class :D
