^ so if I take my rotors down to the shop to be bored I should tell them to go to exactly 60.06mm? 60.1mm should be ok surely? Did you end up going with RDA rotors too Phil? Mine didnnt come with the painted hat!
Yeah Jose that is the R35 GTR which is the latest model. my father has the same model and trust me it is FUCKING quick! if your supra is matching or surpassing that car, your car is very well sorted! im not surprised given what I see in this thread. Since your car is track mainly, have you...
Haha I know hey! The stupid thing is I was under the car a couple of years ago doing all of the lower ball joints and control arm bushes etc but was too fixed on that to noticed the other stuff. I think it has very much worsened over the past 3 years since ive had the car though. The scary thing...
Was it the latest model GTR (2009-2012) or an earlier model. If it was later model, impressive that you would have been faster as those GTRs are rocket ships even in factory form!
Phil, AFAIK still running the stock PCV on the intake, but I will check when I get home.
I took the car to a local suspension shop today to try and diagnose the knock and sloppyness in the steering. Car was put over the pit and the following was discovered:
1) All four bolts holding the...
Yeah needless to say I wouldnt have fitted that JAR thing if it were my car at the time :p. I had planned on adding some water wetter when I give it a coolant flush in a few weeks but as you say, one thing at a time. I've booked it in at a local suspension joint tomorrow so hopefully they will...
I should note that I dont have the rubber seal at the frontal edge of my bonnet (went missing previous owner) so perhaps some air is escaping from the top there also). Should I be running a higher pressure radiator cap? Isnt 0.9 bar about the norm? I remember last time I went to the track the...
yep, have had one here for a few years but never fitted it. I think the under tray would be more functional though so will make that a priority. out of curiosity phil, what sort of temps does yours see at the track? As I say, some people tell me JZs just run hot and 100-110 coolant temps arent...
I do have a cooling plate here, I will install it I think. I'm also going to make up a temporary under tray to help direct air too because the factory one is long gone. I want to eventually do a front splitter but prefer to get the mechanical set up right before adding aero.
yeah I think it may be an issue with either the universal joint or something loose somewhere. it has been like it for some time and hasnt gotten any worse but i need to fix it!! With the turbo cooling, I still have the stock turbos which have hard water lines, probably not worth messing around...
thanks man.
I took the car through the twisty roads in the Adelaide Hills today just to make sure it would hold up to a bit of a push. Water temps seemed to be up around 105 and got as high as 110 but id expect them to go higher at the track as I wasnt on the limit the whole time today. The...
I have fairly firm springs and usually he dampers are 70-100%. both front and rear fenders are rolled also. no rubbing at all with this set up apart from big dips in the road at higher speeds (like you describe) but very minor.
yeah my D1RS that i had on there were becoming a little chipped here and there and the widths will work better with the slicks I have for now than these.
im running KU36 in 235/40 on the front with a bit of stretch and 265/35 on the back. those sizes were just because that's what i already had...
thanks mate. I'm not gonna lie, ive had these wheels sitting in their boxes for 8 months and had no intentions of using them on the street until I saw the pics of yours and thought "fuck it, they look too good to be just track wheels", and so here they are!
with the oil, those were my precise...
got the car back from the workshop about a week ago and have been enjoying driving it over the last few days. Havent had the chance to give it a good flogging yet as its a lot louder than I remember and
given that it has no interior bar dash and front seats, I fear the first cop who looks...
