I have always read that you want the BOV as close to the throttle body as possible since the pressure starts building in the intercooler piping starting at the throttle body...Also you would use a shorter vacuum line this way as well so it seems like a win win in the response category
When I switched from the stock DP +2.5"straight pipe to the BIC DDP with a 2.5" straight pipe my turbo now makes a lot more turbo noise at light throttle (like 1-2k rpm with light to heavy load). If you have a pretty open exhaust I think it is normal to have a lot more turbo "whistling" come...
I just went to the dealership and asked them for an options print out (basically a non pretty window sticker) and mine didn't have the keyless entry listed. I am guessing this is the easiest way to figure it out.
Has anyone tried to put the 98 supra wheel into an mk3, or at least into the airbag cars? I could see that wheel fitting in pretty well with a shadow grey leather interior. If somebody has done it and it fits fine I would probably go that route on my 92.
I was just throwing the option out there. I would try to return an engine like that, but I suppose that would be extremely hard to figure that out when the head is already installed...
I figured some people on a budget might like the 3 year 100,000 mile warranty part of it.
Guys,
I work for Rockauto and noticed they carry a 7mgte long block.
here is the link
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?carcode=1278570&parttype=5240
I know the product has a warranty and Ill take a look at how long it is for once I get to work today.
EDIT: here is the...
No, I did read your post. I see it says that but I am saying I also read from a different source a completely opposite opinion/result...
Who is JBL, is he someone well known for good scientific testing? Not calling BS but there are a lot of people in this world I would not trust for good...
I thought I read somewhere that even at stock boost, 6.8 psi, the stock intercooler produces a 3 psi pressure drop. Meaning the turbo is producing 9.8 psi but the manifold is only seeing 6.8. So while it may cool the air well it may be producing an abnormally high pressure drop in doing so...
I would agree that driving these cars in the rain is a piece of cake. This coming from someone who purchased their car with shitty kelly chargers, which i proceeded to burn off with automotive hooliganism. The next set of tires I got were used (40% tread left, 8 year old) Goodyear Eagle LS...
For the record, I am him/the OP so I guess I could help myself
EDIT - looks like I may have misread what you said. Either way no worries I have the informaton I was looking for...
Ok cool, I wanted to know the range, I must have a boost leak then if those numbers are on stock turbo, stock MAF, and injectors. Currently I don't have access to an air compressor (college...) so I wanted some verification that I do or do not have a leak.
PSI really ins't a shitty...
I have one other quick question
Where should a properly functioning, stock injector, stock MAF car hit fuel cut with an intake and turbo back exhaust? I have tried to find a thread with some basic guidelines but haven't found much. Is it 10psi, 15psi etc. with a stock CT26?
Thanks
I was thinking it was pretty unlikely that the temp really effected it enough to make it hit fuel cut, but maybe.
I will check for boost leaks, I will check but the car runs completely normal so I fear I may unfortunately find nothing...
Thanks for the help Jdub, Im hoping its a boost leak bc...
Guys,
Here is my car's only engine modifications.
Apexi intake
Shimmed wastegate to 8-9 psi
3" BIC DDP to 2.5" straight pipe
I was under the impression from things I had read that I would not hit fuel cut with these mods, however I am hitting fuel cut in every gear but 1st. Is this normal...
I'm just being cheap for a year or so, then Ill be purchasing a high flow cat for the car. I still have the factory cat but its 300 miles away at home and not where i am at college.
looks like a photo chopped picture.
thanks for the replys guys. I am aware that some cars have caught fire from an open DP. I plan on driving it for a week or two max like this while I find someone to fix the rest of my exhaust system, and the underbody of my car is oil and residue free :)...
Guys,
I just bought a BIC DDP off a member on here and have a quick question. Currently my exhaust is one piece from the turbo back, the flange broke off the stock dp and my straight pipe exhaust was just welded to it by the muffler shop (stupid I know...).
Now I am going to cut the exhaust...
