    Fuel System Upgrades?

say someone wanted to go with the Denso pump from the mk4 TT. Is there any differences installing a walbro to the denso? If the stock pump goes and you want to replace it, does putting a the denso pump change the fuel delivery ( to more fuel being delivered) when compared to the stock pump? I...

    Divorced Downpipe??

No. You did not understand what i was saying. Frankly you all over reacted over nothing. I know nothing about the person I quoted and was not saying anything derogotory to him in any way. just disagreeing with the "facts" that he had posted. I rest my case and dont care what you think but i...

    Divorced Downpipe??

Yes there was another thread that got closed. I think some people took what I said in the wrong way and they closed it after that...

    Divorced Downpipe??

DDP is very loud since the car is basically open header through the wastegate dump tube when the car gets near the desired boost level. I have had my BIC DDP installed for about a month now and it can easily scare pedestrians/other motorists etc. As for performance benefits BIC did some dyno...

    what do you mean exactly?

    boost question?

if its an aftermarket gauge and it is attached to the correct vaccum lines I would guess you have a boost leak somewhere.

    Prep for storage

what do people think about the engine oil. my car has about 700 miles on its recent Castrol 0W-30 oil change and it will end up sitting all winter with it. Should I change it again in spring when i take the car out or will it be fine. I would think it might have some condensation in it but...

Two Problems (Shifting/Rad) and what the hell is that noise???

Listen to this guy. And anyone that thinks that a car shouldnt be down shifted (as long as it is done properly with rev matching etc.) is either not capable of driving a stick, or cannot tell when there transmission obviously has a problem. Any manual transmission should be easy to down shift...

Is this normal (one wheel burnout)

if you look inside the door panel there is an axle code there that will tell you if your car came with an LSD. If it is turbo it should have one, if it is NA its a toss up. You can search this site to find the thread with all the different axle codes and what rear end the code corresponds too...

Oil Analysis - Post your VOA and UOA Here

ok, yes they did not give me this number. but they do say in their comments section that this oil is good condition and is suitable for continued use...which is funny since the viscosity is 8.8 and its a 30 weight oil (they knew what oil i was using). Like I said I think i am switching to...

Oil Analysis - Post your VOA and UOA Here

It is 7m with stock oil cooling circuit. I bought the car in may with 82,000 miles on it and put on a brand new Apex intake with apex filter at that time. I change the oil right when i bought the car and used 10W-40 GTX. Then after reading what was on this site I decided to change the oil...

Oil Analysis - Post your VOA and UOA Here

oops, forgot I didn't post that. I am using the holy grail of oil, Castrol Syntec 0W-30 Euro Formula. I don't know what the oil temps are but I doubt they are high enough to warrant that kind of oil shear down.

prove to me a divorced downpipe is better then a regular 3"

duh duh deeerrrrr. this is so funny to me... Nice post and good luck, I would bet a DDP causes more creep then a standard DP. Think about it and get back to me on how this makes sense. Also for what it is worth, A Divorced DP will make more torque, more power, and alleviate creep more than...

    Compressor surge?

That sound is caused from the turbo trying to flow more than the motor can ingest. On a turbo compressor map that is the turbo trying to produce a higher pressure ratio than is possible for a given flow rate (going off the left side of the compressor map). I hope that this is a good enough...

Oil Analysis - Post your VOA and UOA Here

I just had an analysis on my oil done with 4,038 miles on the oil (Castrol Syntec 0W-30 Euro Formula). Couple things I don't like - here is the analysis Wear metal PPM Copper 3 Aluminum 3 Iron 10 Silicone 11 Chromium...

    Compressor surge?

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Real-Compressor-Surge_163406.htm heres a good video for anyone that is unsure of the difference between BOV 'flutter' and compressor surge under power. As IJ said it normally would occur at part throttle/high load situations if it occurs at all.

    Stock IC limit Q's

One thing though, your original test plan wouldnt have worked since you were just pressurizing the piping (If I read correct you wanted to block the IC piping off before it enters the 3000 pipe). If you block the pipe off and pressurize it, therefore no flow, there will not be any noticeable...

    Compressor surge?

^^^ yeap thats what happened with my car. With the stock intake the turbo and blow off were almost in-audible. Once I put the Apex intake on I could easily hear the BPV and the turbo, however I was always getting the flutter noise (which while it is not ideal, flutter when letting off the...
