LOL, yes I am. I love that smiley.
I ran the turbo oil feed line off a sandwich adapter plate, around the back of the engine (over the bellhousing), and around to the turbo.
The BIC motormounts left me a lot of room between the engine and the firewall, a lot more than the 7M so I really...
Update.. I'm getting spark thanks to the CPS I picked up :) but only to the coils for wires 1+6 and 5+2. I found out in the harness I made for the IS300 coils, the signal wire to the 3+4 coils is grounding out, IDK where yet, but at least I figured that out!
I also snapped a wire on my CPS...
Just thought I'd update here again, No I couldn't get the car to start. Yes I know one reason why. Wether this is the only reason it wont start.. I dont know (but I hope!).
I am getting a spark from the coils for wire 1+6, 5+2. I am not getting a spark from the coil for 3+4. This is because...
Progress.. I replaced the CPS and the stock tach moves, and when I stop cranking there is actually a backfire, and it sounds like it wants to start. Then my battery died.
Thanks for the info JJ
Aaron, you're right, I can't understand it being either the wiring or the ignitor, there is nothing else that really fits into the equation. I'll give it a few more days, and if I can't figure it out then I'll shoot you a PM for that circuit ;) I really appreciate it.
Okay, great. I was hoping the problem could still be ignitor, as that would probably be the simple fix.
I got the basmap from Aaron, so the dwell should be fine, but I'll definately try it out.
Q: The is normally sensing a 5v signal from the ECU, correct? It there any way to tell how many...
Thanks man, I'm just SOOO close and its driving me crazy. I can't figure out this spark situation to save my life.
If someone has a spare ignitor I could test out please LMK, I'll pay shipping and buy it from you if it works!
The ignitor is setup exactly how it was for the 7M, and I never had any issues with it. It should still have power going to it, because I havn't messed with it. It could be blown tho.. I have no clue, the only thing I can do is switch it out and see if it works.
Thanks Figgie, I'll check it out. I have a diode laying around, and I can see how much resistance is on that one so I can see if it's about the same. that should give me a vague idea if my wiring is doing the trick, right?
IJ, the ECU doesn't have a gauge or button for an ignition event (that...
The ignitor has the same power and ground as it had with the stock ECU, so I'm assuming so. Correct, diodes are not being soldered into the ignitor. I'll check out the multimeter.
Oh yea, and something to note.. the multimeter shows that the diodes are only allowing current to pass in the...
Ignitor very well could be toast, you never know, but I've never had a problem with it.
No, no temp controlled solder station. I think you're right with the 2nd guess. I guess I got them too hot? Whats the best technique to attach the diodes?
Now I'm really lost. Everything looks right, I left the spark plugs out overnight to clear of any leftover fuel. Same thing, not even a backfire.
Edit: Stuck on 7M coilpack, and no change.
Yea, I was actually really carefull about that, and I'm 99% sure the diodes were facing the correct way (there was even a diagram on the box from radioshack). I'll take another look at that today.
yea, CS% is set, a basemap from bigaaron's 7M is loaded, including everything to run w/ the CPS and 550's. I'm reading the RPM from the software, and the stock tach doesn't move at all when I crank. I'm not even getting a backfire. We'll see what happens today because I let the spark plugs sit...
