if you take the dome light cover off. it just pops off. there are a two screws with ground straps on them. my dome lite on my new car didn't work because the screws had a bad ground. could be your problem. obviously check the bulbs while you in there.

as far as your question about the motor. as long as your motor mounts are good your motor should sit in place just fine by its self. i have left my motor in my car without a tranny for a couple days. it just chilled by itself without anything holding it.

when i prim my motor after it has been out or for whatever reason. i just take the EFI fuse out. crank till i see oil pressure then put it back in and it starts perfect everytime. i would drain the gas too for sure. and oil. might as well do new coolent too.

i would say they are completely worthless and a waste of money other than they look cool. its not going to make the car cool better and a factory lower hose (main one that takes abuse) has a extra layer of shielding that is more than enough for a long life.
