This I know, nonetheless, every set of Steel Braided hoses I've seen, has recommended using Dot 4. Also many brands use teflon and kevlar, not just plain rubber.
There is a need for DOT 4, as every set of steel braided lines I've seen specifies using it. I use it in mine. Dot 5 however, is not to be used with ABS systems.
Yeah, I had to move mine. It's cool though, the smaller size battery I'm using, gives me just enough space to sit it beside it. You can just glimpse it in my build thread video.
That's ridiculous. The pistons in any hydraulic brake caliper will self adjust to the correct clearance. How do you think they compensate for pad and rotor wear? A slightly thinner rotor will not cause a problem like this. It's definitely air in the system.
Head gasket defective maybe, improper torque, poor head and/or block prep. I didn't see any mention of what type of fasteners you used, but if you reused the stock bolts, they could be junk. Get ARP's if you don't have them.
you have to remove all of them to clean the viton from the inner layers. When reinstalling, the guide pins do a good job of keeping the layers aligned. At least it worked in my case.
