im not positive on this, but I don't beleive the fuel pump/fuel pressure has any effect on where the fuel cut hits. It is only from the AFM signal. The fuel system may not be functioning correctly but that does not cause the early fuel cut.
Check for boost leaks.
Why do you recommend studs over bolts here? Are you thinking that it will be very difficult to get the bolts out after some time?
Just wondering since when I did mine I just ran to the local hardware store for some bolts.
the drain/fill plugs are 24mm, but I would recommend only using a 6 pt. socket on them. If that is slightly loose a 15/16" 6 pt will also do the trick.
The original question is for max hp of a stock motor with only a MHG. That means that no forged internals and no head work can be done. Therefore it would appear some of the people being hated on would be correct with their 400-500whp numbers.
I have not heard of more power than that with...
I will try to take some pictures. Basically there is a bracket that goes around the front part of the front upper A-arm and holds the ABS wire sensor to keep it away from the spinning wheels etc. Mine have started rusting and on one side the wire is no longer held down and Toyota does not sell...
If it was a joke then I wouldn't be so but hurt thinking I was disrespecting you. IF it was true, then I meant it to be disrespectful. Good luck finding a job.
Moving on.
Thats the most ludicrous statement I have heard in a while...way to use the system so that the tax payers can pay for your car...:3d_frown: Maybe its time to sell the supe and go back to a civic for a while, that's what i would do at least.
JZa80's posts do look a lot like Justin's
^^^ I do agree that both the videos I posted show undesirable BOV characteristics. While flutter sounds stupid, and as you said, the valve is either receiving a pulsing signal or not working properly causing it to act this way, I do not believe the turbo is in surge during this so it is really...
Guys,
I am just wondering what others have done to replace these brackets when the wire separates from the bracket? I contacted Curt at Elmhurst Toyota and would have to purchase a new ABS sensor to get the brackets so that is not going to happen...:nono:
I am thinking about Zip tying...
No the valve is not open, I am standing there looking at it and the valve is completely shut during this time (hand in front of valve no air flow -surge). The valve opens and closes rapidly when fluttering.
Example of the noise my bov is making after fully opening for about 1.5 seconds and...
It is not flutter it is surge. The valve is no longer open when it does the pff pff pff. It does it almost imperceptibly, and only when the throttle is snapped shut (I have only heard it with the hood open free reving the car - can hear it through the apex filter). I am of the opinion surge...
I'm also with Crisp and his opinion of the HKS valve. I am using the stock Vac line and the valve works flawlessly. As Crisp described the only surge you will ever hear on a properly working valve is after its big whoosh and the valve shuts (like if you rev it in your driveway and let off the...
I had the same problems when I first put my DDP on last year. Hit fuel cut in 2-5th gear. Took my shims off and the car could do 5th gear pulls no problem.
Fast forward to me taking the car out after storage this winter and I put on my HKS BOV. The car no longer only made 7/8psi it was going...
timing light, but wot is never right to keep it running. I just adjusted the CPS with a timing light and no matter where i moved it the motor never wanted to die...
Along with doing them with the motor in the car - which looks pretty tough. What is the proper torque specs on the motor mounts. I have searched and searched the TSRM and can't find the spec on them. Seems odd for Toyota to leave something that important out?
I just purchased 98 turbo mounts...
Yes there there is supposed to be a fuel cut during engine braking until rpms get down to 1200 per the tsrm. My car comes back on line at ~1500 rpm. The manual shows how to check for the fuel cutting out but does not detail how you adjust it - at least from what I have seen.
