    Stock CT-26 wastegate porting

Alright, so I just got done porting the wastegate this last saturday. I just wanted to post up that it alleviated all overboosting issues (wastegate was ported to 29-30mm and I smoothed the flow entering the wastegate). If people are having over boosting problems with the efficient DDP's I...

    7M Sound?

I would have to say single 2jz>7m, but a tubular header 7m sounds really badass as well compared to a CT setup http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ2AcCtKj6U Don't mind the stupid blow off sound (yes i know its a ssqv and I have that on my car :))

    Introducing the 'Oh Shit!" Bar

i still don't understand why people like these braces. I would much rather have my top on for rigidity rather than look at the car with all the different braces I have seen made.

    CPS Help.

The proper way to set timing involves using a timing light. I would suggest using this to set your timing to 10* BTDC with the diagnostic blocks jumped. The TSRM outlines how to do this.

    Brakes dragging!

X2, that is a terrible idea. Brake cleaner is your friend, not wd40. If the brake calipers are sticking, rebiuld or replace, WD40 has no place in the brake system. One other thing you can do is take the sliders apart just in case they are the culprit. Lube the sliders with high temp...

    Coolant hose

I think we should take a little chill pill here, both of you are just trying to help the guy. I agree that Jdub is "more" right but neither's information is bad or un-helpful... Aftermarket caps do have a place since they raise the coolants boiling point allowing for higher safe coolant...

    Stock CT-26 wastegate porting

I actually have already read this thread. That guy is running a 57 trim turbo which I understand needs to have the wastegate ported if you want to run stock boost levels. I am only interested in completely stock CT's. I have searched the forum using all terms related to wastegates and creep...

    Stock CT-26 wastegate porting

I disagree with this, I have no shims, no boost controller and the stock actuator. It should open and hold boost at around 6.8 psi, maybe slightly higher with the mods. Again, mine opens at maybe 1-3 psi which i think is perfectly normal operation leading me to beleive that the wastegate...

    Stock CT-26 wastegate porting

I believe I am in your shoes but am not 100% sure yet since I haven't had a chance to check how far the wastegate is opening with the DDP (with a BIC I assume it should be ok anyway). From everything I have looked at it is unusual for a stock turbo car (of any amount of mods) to be needing...

    Stock CT-26 wastegate porting

Guys, I was wondering if under any circumstances people have had to port a stock turbo wastegate on our cars. My car is currently spiking up to 13 psi (no shims, no boost controller) and I just replaced the wastegate actuator vac line from the compressor outlet. I am aware that the problem...

    Fixing a Month-Long Blonde Moment

First off I have to disagree with everyone saying to inflate the tires to the max pressure, you are just giving away grip. It is safe to say that the optimal pressure for handling will be between the door sticker and the max on the tire but I am thinking if tested you will find the value will...

    Question on OEM springs

Your a masters ME student and are not familiar with metallurgy past some Wikipedia articles??:3d_frown: If designed properly, a piece of steal can go through infinite load cycles without failure. Assuming Toyota knows what they are doing, which they do, and the safety factors involved there...

Post HG Repair / Not 100%

Both are normal - coolant will overflow even when its not "hot" because the pressure is building above atmospheric I have taken my oil filler off after flogging the car with it off and have a steady(but small) flow of vapor/smoke out of the filler hole. It is completely normal. Good luck...
