    WI Supra owners.

yeah I ended purchasing a bunch of upgrades throughout the winter. MK4 TT wheels Cooleze IC hardpipes, and spearco replica FM HKS SSQV 3.5" exhaust to replace my DDP back 2.5" straight pipe. Soon to purchase 935 motorsports - slotted rotors, braided lines, Porterfeild RS4 pad kit...

Spark plug wire order for 7M?

Yeah, after looking at Haynes manuals for other cars I would always recommend the factory service manual. The Factory manuals are always so much better its worth the extra money - I found my 92 manual on Craigslist for 40$, totally worth the extra money.

Are there advantages to running a destroked 7M?

yeah looks like i mis-typed that, at least i wrote the equation right, but yes hp and tq are equal (HP and lb-ft units) at 5252 rpm. After 5252 hp is always higher than torque, and below the opposite is true.

Are there advantages to running a destroked 7M?

I know the equations, this is why i said hp is the important value. Knowing HP implies that you know the Force*time...knowing just the force tells you nothing. So i believe everything written above is correct. If you know you have x amount of HP you know you can always gear the thing for the...

Crank bolt/pulley came loose..need some help

I mispoke originally and wrote 1st/rev since if you are applying a torque to the wheels of the vehicle (such as parking it on a slant) it holds the vehicle with the most force. The guy who said 4th gear is the gear you should use was worried about breaking the tranny...I said from the beginning...

Crank bolt/pulley came loose..need some help

ooops i lose, yeah go with 4th or 5th gear. I was thinking the gear reductions through backwards. Thats what i get for quick posting while in class... The tranny will be fine regardless of gear though, the motor can output much higher torque values on it then 195 lb-ft

Crank bolt/pulley came loose..need some help

You realize your motor out puts much more torque then 195 lb-ft...You will not harm the transmission doing this. The tranny is way more then capable of doing this. The best gears are 1st/R as they make it the hardest for the wheels to turn.

Crank bolt/pulley came loose..need some help

If it were me I would try to torque the bolt with the car over a pit. Put the car in gear (1st/R with a manual) or park with the auto and have the ebrake on and torque the bolt. Should have little issue with that. I haven't done it before but if I had to that is what I would probably do...

Can you solve my boost mystery?

unplugging your factory boost gauge does not change the amount of boost the car runs. the factory boost sensor goes to the gauge in the car, not the ecu...

Can you solve my boost mystery?

My money is on the DP, you may have to grind it so it can open fully. It not opening all the way is what causes your over boosting problem.

Can you solve my boost mystery?

based on the above information yes, I would check the wastegate and also make sure the DP isn't the real cause of the problem (IE - preventing the wastegate from fully opening or opening at all). I am going to guess the problem most likely is caused from the DP. Did this problem occur with...

Can you solve my boost mystery?

Is your wastegate shimmed? If not the base boost on a stock turbo/wastegate is 6.8 psi. So if you are hitting 12 lbs without any other boost control you have a problem and that is not normal. Some people report higher boost readings from from the exhaust upgrades but still no where near 12...

Can you solve my boost mystery?

I have heard of issues with certain DDP's, even some BIC DDP's that can cause the wastegate to get held shut or not to open as far as it normally should. 1st - you should take any boost controller off the vehicle and just run off the wastegate, the controllers can only make the boost level...

MkIII front end on a MkIV

I love those Mr.magoo headlights! I would have to say the Mk4 looks the best from the back though. they got the rear end perfect from the factory. I am a big fan overall of the body, the mk4 does a good job of keeping a curvy body which isn't just a blob but has definition.

How long have you owned yours?

I have had mine since 5/18/08, so far it has been a great relationship. I have had a ton of fun, taken the car out to a road course etc. and only done basic maintenance and upgrades to it as well as use it as a dd during the non wintery months in the good old state of WI. I plan to keep the...

    e-brake shoes

Being somewhat in your boat - just needing to replace the shoes - I can tell you this. There are no aftermarket options for the stock ebrake shoes. Had to go to toyota and they were 100$ for all 4 shoes approximately.
