My experience so far with the MaftPro is great. You can keep it simple or you can dig further to manipulate timing etc... I have an AEM WB connected through the AEM's 0-5vdc output to the maftpro, along with the Vf 0-5vdc from the ECU to the Aux input on Maftpro. With this I can log onto my...
IMO you have a couple of options in checking the injectors and it would run in two stages.
The 1st, is you can use a stethoscope, an auto one if you have it or you can make a crude one with some hose and a solid object plugged on the end. Listen to each injector at idle and see if you can...
"DOH"
lol... Glad I asked, probably why I have never used it for that application...
Ok yeah I think I have some on the shelf... the #4 I think threw me and being late at night... I'm picking up what you are dropping now...
Yep good with the grease on lip, but never tried the permatex with that application, great idea though and one that I for sure will put to use... Will update later this week. Thanks again!

Oh and just to...

I am with CyFi6 - Make sure you are following the proper steps to do a leak down test. IIRC 15% is the maximum you want to see on loss, but I 1-10% is normal, my tests netted 8-9% loss across the board on a fresh re-build, but not broke-in yet...
Here are some links that may be helpful to...
If you would personally do it - well good enough for me :-)
I'll give it a go, should be able to put it back in tomorrow night and will know if it is leaking by Wednesday... so I will update with hopes of success...
Thank You!
Thanks for confirmation IJ, I will plan to go that route, unless I can perhaps see any evidence on the seal of nicking, in process of removing transmission right now, so will look to make certain that is where it is leaking once flywheel is off, I assume I will see a little bead of oil sitting...
Yeah so true, I am pulling the transmission out tonight and I will take a closer look, but yeah I am sure that 2 or 4 bolts go into the bottom of retainer, so maybe could widen holes through pan?
IJ - how do you compensate moving the retainer 1mm in relation to the pan bolting to it?
Thanks
Well an update some time later - it is on the road and running and the seal has leaked since initial start-up :-(
So I am pulling the tranny and pulling seal and retainer ( I can pull retainer without pulling pan right?)
A Toyota seal was used, I am thinking I will follow IJ's lead on this one...
Not that this really applies to his real question, but in case someone comes across in their search for stock gaps - 1987-1988 TRSM (which OP has 1988) page IG-8 states:
7MGE 1.1mm / .043 in
7MGTE .8mm .031 in
I am currently running at .28 but have not broken 6psi of boost yet (still in...
IwantMKIII - I hope I did not sound like I was being an ass, as it was not my intention at all, after re-reading, thought it could be taken that way... I am not discounting what you were suggesting, but was explaining my reasons behind why I did it the way I did and if it is wrong, would be glad...
Thank you for the info -
Correct they would show up easily enough, I guess I was trying to prove that the connection from my aftermarket Stainless Steel Intake (in place of accordion) was not leaking at any of the welds, or the silicone connections between it and the turbo and it and the afm...
Thank you for your insight. Here were my thoughts behind it -
My concern with testing portions of the system, is that it leaves the connection that you undid to cap, as an unknown as to whether it is leaking or not.. i.e. disconnect the ic piping from the TB, what if that silicone coupler...
I have read and read several threads related to different ways of testing for a vacuum/boost leak, some test more of the system then others...
My theory was that the more I can leave hooked up the better, otherwise you don't know if it is leaking where you took it apart and put back together...
I am looking for anyone who is in the Chehalis / Centralia area with 7mgte Lexus/550 upgrade, preferably 87-89, but any MarkIII would be great?
I have been fighting an issue for over a month now, have stumped many via the keyboard, not because a lack of intelligence or expertise of those who...
Thank You! That is what I am hoping is going on... I will re-post in about 2 weeks when I am there.. will also have a tuned dyno done in about 2 weeks also...
