You know what I mean.
Mk3 and Mk4s don't have struts.
Mk2s do have struts in the front.
Mk1s I have no idea about anything other than the rear works on corollas.
I don't know anything else about these things. I think they're fine either direction, but can't say for sure. But I'm pretty sure that's how the stock tems are.
But you bought these and don't have TEMS? So why did you buy them?
So what's your question?
You have some lowering springs? You need shocks?
That's easy, get Koni's if you want rebound adjustability, get illumina's if you want to use TEMS and get Bilsteins if you want awesome shocks. Not that Koni's aren't good dampers.
If you can get a spring compressor in there and have enough room to change the perch location, there's nothing wrong with that.
But the shocks shouldn't have raised your car that much. If you're using the same springs and the shocks are the same size, the car should sit the same. The shock...
The x-axis is damper shaft velocity and the y-axis is force.
So it tells you how much force the damper is putting out at what velocity. Different plots will have different sign conventions. But the legend should tell you which is which.
Looking other places than VW vortex would probably be a good start if you're looking for wheels that fit.
IF you really need to buy wheels that are not the right bolt pattern, you can use an adapter to make them fit. But remember the adapter will add about 1".
So if you still want to do...
Mk3's make awesome drift cars. Just don't waste all your money on the engine. Just build an engine for like 400hp, more if the car still weighs the same as stock. Spend good money on suspension, get some more steering angle, some awesome wheels and a good seat and steering wheel. And you...
Set spring preload at about zero all around, just enough preload to hold the spring in place with the shock unloaded. And then set height with the lower mount. If you need to go lower, then you can look at using the spring perch, but I doubt you will need to.
Exactly.
I want to put another AIM MXL in the car. It all depends on budget but I want some kind of data acq system in the car.
Of course, I would also be happy with a bunch of lights and no actual gauges on the dash. Just shift lights and warning lights. I mean I would still like...
Is this definitely true? Is it something that's easily available or something that's a lot of work to find.
Has anyone ever used the Marlin Crawler VSS for something like this?

And I like IJ's idea the best. Besides the...
Don't hacksaw it. Or at least don't cut into the arm at all.
Just take it to a machine shop, they'll have a press and something that will fit in there on the sleeve and push it out. That way it goes out without any issues.
And for everyone else, don't burn out control arm bushings...
Yeah, there's drifting all over the east coast and has been for like 6 years now.
But this motor sounds like it's going to suck in a drift car. Unless you're awesome and doing super fast tracks. But anything where you have to slow down, you're going to hate it.
And a drift car build...
But I heard that chicks dig dents.
So what I'm seeing in this thread is there's like 3 other dudes that really drift. And a bunch of people that think burnouts or donuts or a little power oversteer at the end of a corner counts as drifting.
