Thanks for the tips. Quick question for you, did you re-use the lexus bearings or did you get new ones in your diffs? If you did use the lexus bearings did you transfer the races into the MA70 housing?
George, it would be best if I could have the diff out first to check what shim I need but I won't be able to have the car down for that long to wait the 2 weeks for the shims to come in. The car is in storage right now so I also can't do it until I get it out in about 2 weeks. I am also trying...
Thanks George for the information. I talked with Curt at elmhurst and I would pay a 20% restock fee on any unused shim. While this sucks it is not unreasonable considering they have to be special ordered and take 2 weeks to get so I think I will be spending about 225$ on the shims. Hopefully...
You guys forgot the most important reason, SOUND...tubular manifolds sound way better than our stock log style mani.:)
With that said, just use a different turbo if you are going with the tubular manifold.
Well actually it looks like gofastgeorge did it first and he had no issues with fitment or stub shafts - I am sure he will chime in. The same TRD diff is used in the IS300 and ma70 so everything looks to be a go.
Beyond stub shafts I am hoping someone has better option for me than just...
I will be taking both the ma70 pumpkin and the is300 pumpkin apart in the next couple weeks and will take some measurements of both the pinion and ring gears. It would be nice if they were the same as I would keep them as spares.
Guys,
As a few of you know I have purchased a Torsen Differential from an IS300 and I am going to be tossing it into my MA70 diff pumpkin in the next month or so. I have just started to go through all the parts needed and I am running into an issue with pinion and carrier shimming.
I have...
I would definitely not call it useless, it just does not change over the LARGE range of temperatures that toyota deems acceptable. I see no issue with this. When the car is getting too hot the stock gauge starts moving where it should. Just because it is incapable of showing you the...
Yeah you should come to RA that weekend, If you don't race I think entrance is only 5$ or something like that. I will be doing either Saturday or Sunday, haven't fully decided yet. No matter what it should be a good weekend and from what I hear a lot of the people there like giving ride alongs...
I ordered my hardware straight from the dealer and it was about 10-15$ from curt at elmhurst.
with regard to cooling, the undercover helps direct airflow through your oil, radiator and power steering cooler while at speed. It has a negligible effect sitting in traffic.
Im going lex/550's, and am getting rid of LSD and putting in the Torsen from an IS300. New Tires - Dunlop Direzza Star specs, painted my MK4 wheels probably also going to go with Bilstein HD's and HR springs and maybe a ct2657. I plan on taking the car out on a few road courses this summer...
Any of you guys who have idle AFR's up at 17 and up with the car running the stock ecu and efi system without any aftermarket stuff changing how idle AF is determined definitely have an issue. My lc-1 constantly varys between 14 and 15 at idle and cruise just like it should if the ECU is...
found it, 91/92 had factory Z rated tires. Under specifications. Looks like earlier cars have V rated tires.
