the wing and blinker covers are the only thing i like about that car at all. bolt on fender flares and the rear wheels are still sticking out like 4" and even the uber duber stretched tires are still sticking out. i know that wasn't the question, but i just had to comment.
yes you need a full manual valve body. well, dont NEED but it's way better. you can get a full manual with transbrake, but it is a lot more work. if you are going to do almost full time drag, it would be worthwhile.
for shifters, i like the b&m stuff. of course all that is preference...
my precision converter made to work with sean's plate was ~$700
i was in the same boat you are, and here were my thoughts:
ati- cost a lot more ($700 vs $300 for shawn's). however, you do get a nice flexplate.
ati- you have to completely cut to fit. shawn's plate- ready to bolt on...
yep, i love those and use them all the time for running cable at work.
they are called cable grips or strain reliefs.
best part about it is the internal rubber seal that keeps moisture out, which would be handy for what you are doing.
cheap cheap...
dont forget this was talking about what tools/equip to take TO THE TRACK. not what you roll with on a daily basis. i have a small tool bag that stays in the car, but on a road trip or the track there is a lot more that goes.
you can get a harbor freight chop saw for $50. i bought one to use for one job, figured it would atleast last that long. it did, and worked well, and that was 3yrs ago.
base fuel pressure is always referenced with no vac. i always set bfp by jumpering +B and Fp and the car not running.
do you have after start idle enrichment turned on?
any tuning done on the mpro?
i've had precision 680cc for quite a while. had them with a lexus afm and safc, original maft and safc, and the maftpro. all idled very well at stock idle. altho i did have lower bfp (32-36psi).
here is a video w/ the 680cc, maftpro, bfp at 34psi, aeromotive a1000 pump and 800 rpm idle...
1:
2: almost identical to voodoo
3: i used 2awg multi-strand. i also ran pos/neg length of car. never been a fan of grounding right at the batt in the hatch.
csi = cold start injector
you can put the probe in the fins but i hate that. they damage the fins, and over time they vibrate and bounce which damages it more and sometimes the sensor just falls out.
id prefer a thread in sensor myself, but that's up to you.
something like this...
yeah cops in va are pricks. they pulled over my bud for "illegal exhaust" because it was loud, yet while writing the ticket a straight pipe harley goes blowing past without so much as a look.
if you want quiet, def not the blitz. might look into the hks drager. great sound and performance...
sure they are. brake horsepower (or since you are in london perhaps you are talking british horsepower) is horsepower made at the motor with no drivetrain or accessory loss. rear wheel horsepower is horsepower measured power at the wheels.
and yes, bone stock turbo at 17ish psi i think. it...
that would have been helpful to know in post #1
in that case, you will need to have a sandwich adapter plate made to bolt up the toyota bell housing to the t56. as far as the rest of the swap, i couldnt begin to tell you. is this even going in a mk3?
