OK, so there are aboslutly no options for me besides get a new turbo or get it rebuilt for just about the same price correct.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the mechanics of the turbo. You cant just unbolt the turbine wheel to replace it with another? It looks like there is a bolt there holding the wheel on. What I mean by buying a beat up turbo is to just take the turbine wheel off the beat up one and put it on mine. Is...

Definitly use the Toyota FIPG (form in place gasket) sealer from a toyota dealership. It may cost close to $20 a tube but its worth it. Dont use permatex sealer unless you feel like changing the gasket again.
^^Thats what I thought but now that I think of it from what soapra was saying and that its only on the top half of the bearing, it sound more like detonation. Its just bothers me that its only on one side of the bearing.
