ouch :P well for a car thats in decent shape with relatively low miles 4-5500 for that car is about right. up in the NE i have noticed that there arent that may supras around hence a premium. 400hp is adsurd though.
break in procedure is as varied as the person. some people say you can drive it like you stole it right off the bat while some say no full throttle/boost until after 1000/500/350 miles of easy driving. alot of different ways to go about breaking in an engine but what ya have there is probibly a...
i think 7k is feasible on the stock head and block. there was a nice thread about the forces at work as engine speed increases and from that it was determined that 7000 was getting into the danger zone some. however as long as you arent letting the motor sit in 2nd doing 7k for an extended...
not too bad. very clean car and looks like he put some real work into it. always good to see a nicely done car rather than some car where a guy cheaped out.
its pretty normal. look at the 2 pipes that come off the valve covers. now trace their route and you can see they end up in the accordian hose. this provides vaccum. normal
i like a combination of using the e-brake to initate the inital drift and then power over for subsequent drifts.
i do agree that the weight of the mk3 has been exagerated in that because it weighs so much that it wont make a good drifter. the contrary is with the additional weight it makes the...
you dont NEED it right off the bat. however i recommend you do it. i have been running the lex 550 setup for sometime now w/o the pump and reg with no issues and im still rich as hell!
jtamulis im not quite sure thats correct. a professional shop can tune a car i think alot better than someone going 60mph down the freeway trying to avoid crashing and watching a WB readout.
jast14: take it to ATS in denton. great shop and have tuned many cars (supras and mr2s) and have...
step 1. build motor
step 2. add big turbo
step 3. crank boost until it pops
step 4. repeat steps 1 and 2 and then 1 pound less pressure wise
step 5. beer
a local guy just installed it and was less than pleased over all. it seems like a powerful system, easy install, but the fit finish and quality wasnt there. {shrug} i personally went the vpc route so well see.
if you are on the stock turbo yes its normal to see drop off like that. the ct26 runs out of oomph (yes thats an industry term  ) towards redline. bigger turbo or shim the wg some will help a little.
