nope that sounds about right on the plumbing side if theres no ebc. you can get a hks evc for around 200 and they work wonders. you might have damaged the diaphram with even the short bursts on the compressor. it also sounds like you may be having a boost creep issue if you have a wg that is...
i really cant tell for sure as im looking at the pictures now on a different monitor and it looks like the electrode has some green on it so im thinkin somehow its making its way into the combustion chamber and getting burned. {shrug}
there are a few guys who have been running the ultimate and the reviews have been less than stellar. there seems to be some problems with interference and can cause some issues (running lean for a second has been the main problem, similiar to the mapecu for the mk4s lean spot.) over all stick...
the eman blue doesnt handle airflow itself but allows you to modify the afm signal for tuning.
the vpc has been around for a while and is a tried and true system.
if you already have the maft setup may as well keep it.
ps on that break in....those are city miles, highway doesnt count. its not as hard as you think, just drive like a granny for 2 tanks of gas and your golden
/\ over revving alot maybe. if your just talking about revving to 7k there is more than enough wiggle room built into the valve train to deal with it before valves float.
