I am curious as to if it does matter as well. I have the diagram and the only way I can see it being a problem would be if the oil had to flow up through the oil cooler, but from the chart it feeds in the top to the bottom. The power steering cooler, I can't see that being a problem at all...

I have never had problems lining up everything. like stated have you had your head, or block machined before? Also check your tension spring to make sure it is in spec. TSRM for that.

You may want to start looking into the mechanisms on the door. Sounds like it is jammed shut.
