    AWESOME mag light mod

Holy crap, that would be nuts in a mini mag light. (The Panasonic diode.) I used to joke about mounting up a carbon dioxide laser to my car, and use it to cut tires off offending slow jackass drivers in the left lanes... The bright green beam, smoke, and sudden loss of tire pressure might...

    Corvette w/ Rice?

From what I know that that car, it becomes quite light over the rear end at high speed. If you were to drive around at 90 to 150mph all the time, you'd want the wing, and screw the few MPH lost on the top end for the stability gained by the wing's downforce. That being said, its' FUCKING...

about a homemade oil catch can...

Compressor dealers... Or most pipe/hose places sell them. Mine is a Parker #F06f24bc. And It has 1/2" NPT threads.. Must have been thinking about the other one that was 80.00, it had larger 3/4" ports. It has a metal body, and metal bowl with a sight glass down the side. There is a drain...

about a homemade oil catch can...

Look for a 3/4" NPT threaded oil seperator for air lines/compressors. (Mine was 50.00 with the bracket, and it has a clear plastic sight, metal bowl, and a very nice oil seperator that creates a swirl effect, and has an air filter to keep oil droplets out of your turbo/intake/FMIC. They are...

developed rod knock on new motor

For mine, I filled the Accusump, then plumbed it and mounted it. (And charged it so the gauge read 30psi.) Then before I started the motor, and before I opened the accusump, did the EFI fuse out crank for 10, then wait about 3 seconds, crank 10 seconds more, wait 3, then crank 10 secs, and it's...

developed rod knock on new motor

I'm pretty sure I have mine right. On a cold day, the "far" end tank is just barely warm, and the tank with the T-stat in it is quite hot. (Conversly, on hot days, the whole thing is very hot.) IIRC, the oil goes IN opposite the large nut that retains the thermostat, and OUT on the side of...

    ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Make the shop that did the work rebuild your motor again, or refund your money, and pay for the parts that will have to be replaced. (IE, rings or pistons and rings, bearings etc.) Sounds easy, but it is not. (I actually have not had much luck personally on this, but see what you can do.)...

    WTF?90 degree coolant hose...

LOL, front end... Thinking most Audi's? LOL Had the belts changed on my A8... not interested in pulling the front of my car off... Especially w/o a lift.

LOL, 20.00 in Moscow... How much is that exchange rate wise? I know it used to be quite a lot of money...

Blowing out oil from the dipstick when on the dyno??

Have to chime in here. For awhile, just ran a filter on the end of the hose, no vac to the TB, or valve cover vents, and as long as you don't run lots of boost, it works, most of the time.. however, upon adding more pressure/boost, you do blow oil out the dipstick, and the valve cover vents...

    AWESOME mag light mod

Dude, I like want to mount them on Frickin shark heads... Mmmmm Dr. Evil. :) Seriously though, I use a laser pointer all the time in my job, but this would be A RIOT! I would be fired for sure... :) Years ago, I worked for a research lab, and they used lots of lasers.. Lots of them...

    Happy Birthday Ian (aka IJ)

Dang, missed it by a few hours here, but Happy Birthday Ian! One of these days, I'm going to make it to the "land down under" and I should like to see the only LPG powered Supra that I know of with a Ford 9" rear diff... Dang, man, just when I think I'm doing something weird with my Supra, I...

    Funny thing happened...

My guess is split hose. Idle is fine as the hose has enough tension to hold up at idle, but under boost, it opens, and your blowing air out. Should be blowing black/gray smoke under boost. (Running rich.) What turbo/manifold are you running if you have a Ebay WG? What pipes? What type of...

    Can find Oil pressure plug

Slips on to the top of the sensor. (Sideways IIRC.) Then you slip the rubber boot over top of the plug and the sensor.

    aftermarket intercooler

Hmm... All things being equal, the larger cooler should in theory allow for more flow, but if there is a difference in core design, or other factors, It could cost power going to A/M v/s the stock setup. (But I don't see very many ways it could do that allowing for the size area we have up front...

    Oil pump

Any Aisin pump is OEM Toyota. (That is who Toyota bought them from.) Same as our Transmissions, they are from Aisin as well. You guys realize that 80% or more of the car is NOT built by Toyota right? (This goes for every car maker, the average is actually 18% is OEM.) The CRITICAL...

what should I expect for horsepower

Threads like this crack me up. There are quite a few 60 trim CT's out there, and some bolt on CT copies with the 60 trim making low to mid 400's on similar setup's. Why all the drama? And boost pressure is not what the final factor is on your engine's limits in my opinion. Gas quality...

    cams and timing

As Nick mentioned, #1 at the top. Timing mark should indicate 0. Make sure both cam sprockets are straight up. To check for TDC on #1, I have found it easy to use a small wood dowel down the spark plug hole. Just make sure when the timing mark is at 0 your #1 piston is all the way up, and...

    Rods

No complaints about Pauter rods. Worth every penny. :) Not that I'm running 700hp either. (Yet.) But I do have one of the few stroker motors that actually have run for more than a few moments.... And the rods held up to some serious detonation on the first stroker when the guy at the shop ran...

    7m-gte VS. 1jz-gte

Pick your passion. Low end tourqe, and decient mid range power, stay with the 7MGTE. Like high RPM power, and somewhat decient midrange? Be my guest, and jump on the JZ bandwagon. (Talking the 2.5 1JZ here, not the 3.0 2JZ.) Start mods, and all this goes out the window. Either engine...
