Threads like this crack me up.
There are quite a few 60 trim CT's out there, and some bolt on CT copies with the 60 trim making low to mid 400's on similar setup's.
Why all the drama? And boost pressure is not what the final factor is on your engine's limits in my opinion.
Gas quality is one.
Final assembled static compression ratio is another. (It will ultimately limit the amount of boost you can run for the same given fuel octane quality.)
Another consideration is the CT was built for a much smaller wheel than the 60-1. The small shaft has been known to fail at very high pressures, depending on the quality of the upgrade. (Some work great, others fail.)
In short, the CT based turbo is going to give you about the best low end tourqe numbers, the bolt on will give you slightly higher top end power, and only sacrifice some low end tourqe due to the slightly better flow of the cast CT housing copy from Turbonetics. (Now, the BOSS setup is another story, it spools up nice, and flows better too, so closer to the better of both worlds.) And your bolt on turbo designs generally have shafts that can handle all the boost your 7MGTE will allow. (You can run 30psi or better off any of them but very few 7M's out there will last long at that type of pressure without some serious mods and fuel.)
So, in short, I found my 60-1 bolt on was awesome anywhere under 20psi on pump gas, but burned up a piston at 28psi, and blew the stock head gasket at 21. 4 engines later, I have changed over to a T70 from Masterpower, and someday will figure out how much that baby will put down with my mods.
I do not reccomend buying a liter bike and having a A8 as DD's. (It makes putting your Supra back together less of a priority... LOL)
