Rob, the ones I have, especially the passengers side are striped. The small aluminum teeth inside are shot. That's why Steve suggested new ones. I will just get a set off one of the cars in the for sale section. There should be plenty to choose from.
Starting to look like I will be driving...
Steve, all I can say is we will see. Still need a couple of parts. Sean is working on the down pipe right now. Just not sure she will be reliable enough to drive that far.
BTW, I was told the passenger side wiper arms are not made any more and unavailable. So, I am looking for a set if you...
My Turbo came in today! Finally here. Bad news, the billet 67 wheels would not balance out so Comp sent one with regular wheel. This will be exchanged for a billet wheel when they get them to balance correctly.
Turbo specifics: CT 4367, TBB, A/R is 1.0 divided exhaust housing, Q trim...
Been a while since I posted here. We have the fuel system all set. Sean hooked up the kill switch for the whole system. Ran it through the rear license plate. Looks good. We also bled the brakes and hooked up several wires to the AEM. One to regulate the electric fans, the other for the kill...
Steve, It all looks good. I bet you are as anxious as I am to get her on the street. The guys from comp confirmed today that mine will be here perhaps as early as tomorrow. Going to be a fun summer!
Rob, I have tried the "old uncle to nephew" talk regarding his abrasive attitude and his need to judge others, but it has had little affect. You would think he would leave it alone but he seems quick to try to slam anyone with a different view.
I too would hate to see you not come because...
Steve: Agreed, It sure looks like a better turn out this year though. Hope it doesn't rain. Maybe we can get SupraSport to offer 10% off all parts bought that day?? I bought a bunch of stuff last year.
We still haven't got the wiper situation fixed yet. Might need you to tweak it. Sean...
Rob, it was raining rubber for a while!:icon_roll This year he can drive behind me and with my new line lock, will cover his car with rubber!! You are right, it was a lot of fun. Nothing like seeing 12 Supras all in a row.
First of all nice build. I love the 2JZ in my MKIII. My slant on putting a untested used engine in a car, has never been a worthy endeavor. To any one reading this thread, don't do it. Always have the engine gone through by a reliable machine shop first. Steveyblack would have saved...
Emilio, The tentative closing date is June 1st, so there will not be an issue getting the bug into the shop. The hoist stays as part of the deal, but all else goes. I have a feeling we will be building a shop not modifying the one on the new property. Finding a place is quite a bit more...
Rob, I plan on using her for daily driving most of the summer. Now that Lucia has driven the BMW around, she prefers I take the Honda Mini van. Screw that, I plan on driving the Supra. Installing the cage was really more a safety issue for me. You have been privy to how hard she pulls. At least...
Thanks for the compliments guys. Good to see you on here Steve. It is slowly coming together. Still not fast enough for me though. Honestabe, I don't drive a Mercedes, I have a BMW 330ci for my daily driver. My wishes are for her to be as reliable as last summer.
Tonight we got the carpet back in and installed the drivers seat. It's a snug fit. There is a small amount of space behind seat and in front of the bar when I am in preferred driving position. If I get tired of the fit will buy racing seats. There is also snug fit at the door, again tolerable.
Fred, thanks for the compliment and the words of encouragement. I will be must happier when she is actually running. Just tweaking now. Once turbo gets in we are going to quickly redo intercooler piping, and downpipe hook up. Electrical fans and battery box instillation, plus gas tank. I should...
87mkIII Thanks to my nephew Sean aka funky_monkey58 (who got banned here, for giving a few moderators a tough time) the deal on the very slightly used cams was indeed sweet. The 2jz has got this real nice lope to her now, combined with my Greddy exhaust sounds sweet.
DaveH Thanks for...
Rob, no problems on this end. There is still so much to do. Sean and I went through our list. Since I do pay him for helping me out, he should have a substantial amount to put towards his turbo sitting down at SupraSport.
Dave, Putting in a cage made a lot of sense. I am not exactly an...
Rob, To be honest I don't think Sean even tried to fit it in there. It looks pretty close to me. If I have to carry it in the back seat. Will keep a blanket to wrap it in if need be. The cage really out weighs the small hassle for the targa in my book. Text me if your around this weekend...
Scotty,
We left the seats in to simply assist Joe in welding the bars in position so they would not interfere with the rear seats and because I have no plans in removing them. My goal is to see how close I can come to running 10s just the way she is. I am also going to put the front ones back...
