Good info sir! Which pistons did you use? The stock 2jzge block has higher compression due to the thinner mhg and the pistons. Its 10:1 stock, so you probably came in a little less (or maybe more due to the machining) with ge pistons and the thicker 1.3mm 1jz gasket. Higher compression is great...

The supras and other vehicles also came with the a430 auto tranny as well. Someone correct me if I am wrong, don't have access to my files until later, but the 1jzgte was indeed both auto and manual. For the mkiii specifically, I need my files to confirm. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

Get the toyota one. No generic 7m gasket is worth it unless its metal. With other engines who have metal gaskets stock, sure. But not the 7m. I like rockauto.com, but wouldnt use anything but the OEM toyota headgasket if I were you, IF you are not going mhg. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

Yeah, it was definitely a first and a shock for me. I did get them from someone who had abused the head/car pretty badly so I wasn't too terribly surprised. Ill see if I can find some pics or pieces left over... In retrospect - ill be installing valves covers with the engine OUT of the car...

Kotu, how exactly did you get those gauges in there? I have prosport performance gauges (not the premium 1.5" ones) like those. I was thinking of cutting the housings to make them shorter and retain a little of the plastic in the dash to keep light in. Or maybe acrylic pieces painted black...
