BTW if you like them, then good on you! They look pretty clean.
Hmm, its very likely its the later 2jzge. Rock Auto had it listed for 95 plus, but they may be off a year. I still need to check mine, im currently out of town. As for the gear it senses, I should be fine since Megasquirt has an adjustable section for wheels. Great find on the picture! Ill try...
To revive this thread, I have found some more information. This applies to the 95 SC300 2jzge which I have, but not to the 95 Supra 2jzge. There is both a cam position sensor, as well as a crank position sensor. Both of these appear to be (still trying to confirm via other forums as well. So far...
depending on the head measurements, cc's of the chamber, and how the piston at tdc is in relation to my block will determine the mhg size. I just threw out the size I used last time. : p trust me, ill make sure its right. I've also got a trick up my sleeve for the twins, no worries. they...
This is what I plan on doing since I had great success with running higher compression on my 7mgte build over last spring (9.0:1 @ 11psi). I plan on running around 9.0:1 again with my 2jzge block and 1jzgte head with a 1.5mm or so MHG, possibly stock twins (or medium single, or upgraded twins)...
And because I'm awesome, here it is! lol I always had trouble finding it, so I copied it!
My first Supra was hell to time, then I found it was 180 degrees out. Car ran great, but then ran even better once I timed it right, fixed some boost leaks, and got the tps right.
If you search, there is a picture on here that shows you what the CPS needs to be at when the engine is at TDC and the cam marks are correct. Then you have your static/non-moving timing right. Same thing you'd do during a rebuild and putting the engine together for the first time. THEN you crank...
Another '1jz issues' post that makes me love the fact I'm going MS2.
Btw, good info on a few things, these always help me with troubleshooting my own and other's cars.
Congrats! It's making me remind myself to be patient on my third swap... I really need to stop doing this. lol Next comes the MR2's new 5sfte once the Supra motor is DD'able.
Good luck, can't wait to see the shined pictures!
I just got a little more information from a reliable 1jz buddy locally. Nytefyre mentioned I could use the 1jz ecu/electronics because it is MAP based and won't care if the engine is 2.5L or 3.0L... which got us talking... The 1jz runs off of 2 cps sensors and 1 crank position sensor, correct...
I was indeed planning on running MS3, I just haven't had much time to read up past the trigger wheels for the crank sensor. I still need to decide on what coils/spark output I'm going to use to keep my setup clean and simple. IIRC, the lexus IS300 c.o.p. setup can be used in conjunction with MS3...
No way to block from reading them if he has access higher than your privileges. I agree, use text or email from your phone and forget using the work computer. It wouldn't be worth fighting them for reading a personal email, because it is being used on a work computer during work hours which...
Yes, he's running a standalone, or was it the aristo harness/ecu? I can't remember. It's not the mechanicals that are difficult, it's just the engine management. But so far so good. It'll be a few weeks before I can get down and dirty with it actually in the car.
As it sits, it's really not complicated at all. The only part about it is the electronics. All the parts and pieces and things are good to go and easy. I was looking into different ways to do the electronics, but as it stands it seems I'll be using the MS system from the get go.
I'm sure I can...
For anyone who may consider the upgraded 7m cps to 24-1, will it fit in the 1jz head like it does in the 2jzge head?
Reason I'm asking: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?131286-1.5jzgte-ECU-harness-Control-questions-and-ideas.-Shoot-me-down-or-lift-me-up!
