    Question about traction

No, traction control wasn't released until '92. 40+ mph rolls is a long, long way from having traction from a dig. I can get traction in third gear with those tires, sure... sometimes even in second gear.

    The Mistress

So... updates... hrm. Changed the upper steering column for a 91+ unit. Not so happy with that, to be honest, I think I'll switch back. Probably going to mod my old 89 unit so all the controls still work with the newer under dash bits. The newer system doesn't feel as solid as the old one -...

Big HP boys what clutch are you using? (2JZ/R154)

The Tilton is REALLY nice. Pedal pressure feels even less than stock... far less than the OS Giken unit.

    DP Question

I don't think he was building the rerouted ones at the time, so he couldn't run the same test.

    DP Question

29 hp, to be exact. And the test was biased in favor of the stock system as well - he started with the stock system on the dyno, recorded the max power, then pulled the DP while it was still hot and put on the DDP, then ran it again. All run on the same day, same ambient pressures, temps, etc...

    Question about traction

Were you running with the traction control on??? I can spin drag radials in 1st whenever I want... second gear they only spin if it's not hot enough.

    Question about traction

That only works up to a certain power level, AND if you're willing to sacrifice cornering ability.

    Question about traction

It all depends on the tires and the temperatures. I'm running 568rwhp and 275's with a 50 wear rating, in hot weather they'll stick. In average weather they'll usually stick in third gear. On my other car with ~400rwhp, 200 wear rating, and the same width, first and second gear will usually...

2 questions: Capping heater core lines on engine and PPS hookup?

I've seen the heater core lines bypassed, but never capped. No idea what the effect would be... and it's so easy to bypass them, I wonder why he didn't go that route? As for the PPS system, there's no noticeable difference at speed. I seem to recall that the system is completely off after...

88 Gray Door Panels vs. 91-92 Shadow Gray Door Panels

Actually, they bolt to the doors. The door panels go over the top of them.

Driving unlawfully. How old are you?

Bah, deer are a nuisance. Elk are nastier. Bears are deadly. Moose will charge the car - hell, I've seen moose charge a TRAIN. Trains win... cars, not so much - a full grown bull moose can take your car at 65 mph, spin you around, destroy your car, and not even fall down. I'm not bitter...

Still can't figure out these issue's..

The vacuum at idle and lean at idle is pointing to a vacuum leak. I'll second the idea of doing the DIY boost leak tester.

Just found out my thyroid has to be removed

It'll go soft again eventually... took over a year for my incision to soften back to usual skin texture. Good luck with the radiation therapy.

Just found out my thyroid has to be removed

Scars add character to guys, anyway. Has the incision gone hard from the scar tissue yet?

    BHG block indentations

Agreed. Stock head bolts at 75 foot pounds on a stock gasket should seal that fine for another 20+ years, barring acts of god or bolting a turbo onto it.

88 Gray Door Panels vs. 91-92 Shadow Gray Door Panels

Yes, however, it requires more than a fair bit of modification to the 88 speaker pods.

Lex/560s wont go rich even with lots of fuelpressure and safc tweaks

Another thing to add to the pot. Your TPS only reading 70% is likely fine - I suspect that your SAFC is displaying throttle percentage based on a 5v scale, and all the Toyota TPS's I've checked are WOT at ~3.8v, not 5v.

Flywheel Bolts - 1987 Supra HELP!

Well, the one I use apparently does not, however, it does look like they have something in Singapore. http://www.fastenal.com These guys carry high strength bolts - they've often had to order stuff in for me, however, it's rarely taken more than a couple days. To be honest, I'd be shocked if...

    Hello from a Georgia Peach.

Damn... you guys have state fruits? We have a national animal, and provincial trees / flowers... but I've never heard of a fruit before. Anyway, thanks for the background info, and welcome to the place, make yourself at home.

Driving unlawfully. How old are you?

My solution is simple... put the kids in the back seat, put the roof in the hatch, and I find I'm cruising slower than the speed limit. The bonus is I have lots more time to stare at the pretty ladies walking on the sidewalk. I haven't had a ticket in a *long* time... more than a decade. If I...
