Yep, cheek weld, and ear muff protectors do not generally go well together.. (Use both ear plugs, and muffs, if you have them.) I took the M&P out for 300 rounds tonight at the local indoor shooting range.. (Impact guns).. So busy I had to wait a few for a lane to open up.. and the place was...

Well, my rifle and pistol hankering has been satisfied for awhile... :) Reciently bought the FNH FS2000.. It's been fun.. and it augments, and might someday replace my M4.. Pistol wise, I like 9mm's for the easy recoil, and cheap/plentiful ammo, and with the right round in there, they are...

IIRC, there are 30 round magazines for the storm rifles.. Cool idea too, using the pistol rounds in a rifle.. better ballistics, and longer range accuracy.. I'm looking at that same sight.. Not sure I want to spend the bucks, and then spend another 400 to 700 for the 3x or 4x magnification...

The Kahr pistols all have pretty good reputations.. They are slow to break in some say however. (Trigger pull/smoothness...) But they are very reliable, and well made.

I know your not supposed to change the locks.. but I have in a few places I've lived.. :) :) Just look at the lock type. Go buy one just like it at the local hardware store. Or you can also take the lock out, and take it to a locksmith.. for about 20.00 last time I did that, they will...

    power steering cooler relocation....

I'm using the stock oil cooler for my PS oil coooler. I don't see why using the radiator cooler would be a problem. It should work fine. Might even work better, as your PS fluid temps would be more consistant than mine in theory.

    aftermarket flywheel

I've run a Fidanza alloy flywheel for years.. no problems. The starter ring is well done, and the friction surface is fine too. Clutch is an RPS sprung 6 puck.. 3 carbon, 3 sintered bronze.. Pressure plate looks like a stock one.. (I think RPS screwed me, but it works....) Pressure...

    Mahle 7M pistons

That piston design is very nice indeed. Even if they are not forged, they are stronger than the stockers.. just by design alone. I'd coat them, and run'em for sure.. (Depending on the price of course..)

High rpm components, let's cover everything.

I am running 1mm OS stainless valves, and I think my valve job was 250.00, but I had them machine the seats ID as well as just grind the 3 angles to the seats.. Then I blended the now larger ID valve seats.. into the runners. (And the other mods noted..) My oil pump shaft is machined to...

The sights on the FS2K are pretty basic back up ones. The front is a post.. protected by the two rails you can see.. the rear is a flip up peep hole.. Nothing special at all. (This gun is completely designed for either a L3EoTech type sight, or other optics.) Most likely, I will put the...

The magpul/bushmaster bullpup was very tempting, but by the time it's ready to sell, Obama and his buddies will have outlawed it... The stuff from Israel is always good, somewhat basic in many cases, but good, reliable weapons for the most part. (Uzi is a good example, as is the Galil, I'm...

Speaking of plinking.. I've wanted to buy the .22 conversion kit for my PT99 for years.. and finally did it.. Here is the PT99 with a rubber grips (the stock wood ones are nice looking, but suck for real world use when you need your pistol..) Here is the JAC conversion. Slide is aluminum...

Kai, this one's for you. This is my .22 tack driver.. it's more accurate than I am.. and if I control my breathing, heart rate etc. is a very good .5MOA shooter at ranges up to about 100 yards, with match grade ammo. (With the cheap stuff, best I've done is 1MOA, with a flyer every now and...

OK, two more of the gun back together, and with the supplied 30 round FNH magazine in place. (Note that the gun has neoprene seals around the magazine, to keep dirt out of the gun.. so mags do not drop free when the mag release is depressed. But a few moments of working with the gun shows you...

Now the upper/barrel and rail.. this has the gas piston as well. Note that the charging guide rod is also the gas piston rod. A very good design that does not waste anything that is not needed, and it's very robust and reliable. Note that the slash cut flash suppressor is designed to reduce...

OK, photo time for the FNH FS2000... Might take a few pages.. I took all the ones I thought people might like, and the ones that I wanted to see, but rarely found anywhere. (Like how this gun tears down for cleaing..) Here is the rifle in the box. (Blue box of happyness.. LOL) Other side...

Kai, that's a dang nice air rifle.. .177 is nice and quiet too. (That is design where you prime the piston by cocking the barrel down right? I shot one of those for a few years, and my Dad still has a very nice .22 caliber one.. I think it's rated at 950fps or something like that. A very...

Finally broke down and bought the FNH FS2000 bull pup style rifle.. It's been on my mind for years, and the price has done nothing but go up.. (Damn.) Anyway, read the manual, took it apart, and cleaned up all the factory oil.. I use CLP Breakfree on on my guns.. Very impressed with the...

    Maft Pro help! WTF?

So, if 5.11 has the controls, I'd rather start there.. :) All my connections are either soldered, or 3M butt type connectors, used the right crimping tool, and they are sealant/heat shrink type, so they make very good connections. I will check the only clip type connector I have, but I...

Maft Pro crank but no start

I'll check to make sure the spark values are all zeros. (Stock.) Why would I be getting too far ahead of myself? Why not start with the latest version of the software possible, and go from there?
