Will definitely be getting one from George. Fairly certain it will be an aluminum Koyo. That rad is now a conversation piece on my wall. It's surprising that the car even idled without overheating.
LMAO! Completely forgot the car is auto now. I guess the last time I read about this car was back when the double plate was on the way. I guess I need to spend more time around here. lol
If it weren't for Steve's help, this wouldn't have gotten done. Now the dis assembly can continue and I can wash the bay before the weather gets too cold. During the winter months I can slowly piece it together in my spare time and have it complete for spring.
Looks not too bad actually at a glance but I haven't removed it yet. I plan to pull the entire AC system from the engine bay. There was a leak in the system somewhere so the AC hasn't worked since I got the car. Should be a small weight savings from the front of the car and it will clean up the...
So the motor is about ready to come out. It will be out of the car today. Yesterday I removed the driveshaft, differential, rad, and disconnected everything in sight. All that's left is the oil cooler lines, wiring harness and motor mounts...I think. I've never pulled a 7M from a Mk3 chassis...
I'm 22 and I know that this would have never affected me. My parents did not limit things like this and trusted me as a kid. I also bought my own car before I had a license...so no need to borrow the parents car anyways.
This has been a long time coming. I have been putting up with a slow car for too many years now. This has always been the plan. It just happened to all come as a package deal. Worked out good for me. If I had a week off straight I bet I could get it all done. Since I don't it will take all...
So I started pulling the car apart today. Removed all the hardpipes, AFM, filter, coil packs and a few other things. I only had an hour and these were the parts that had to come off due to being sold.
Over the weekend I want to get the hood and front bumper off and start disconnecting things...
Ya, it shouldn't be too hard to notice the increase with this one. lol
Currently writing up the final list of changes to the car.
-rebuilt GTE engine, balanced and blueprinted with new stock internals.
-rebuilt R154
-Bully clutch and lightened stock flywheel
-relocated power steering...
Before spring time rolls around. I am fighting the urge to go out and work on it since I am in school and working at the same time right now. I will do it when I get some more free time. As long as it is ready for next season I will be happy.
