The jz hydro pumps are the same, I would think this would work in a 1jz, but it could be specifically designed for the 2jz in ways.
I would e-mail and ask.
Here is a thing I found with most of the part I wrote down I needed for the swap:
- Lengthened harness OR Routed stock way with lengthened body plugs.
- Power steering. Can use mk4TT hose with longer banjo bolts from DM OR DM PS SS Hose.
- 1JZ brackets/mounts. Stock/Private/BIC/Other
-...
It is normal. It will not leak. Also, replace the ground you have missing there, I'm sure you noticed but I'm not sure what stage you're at in your swap and just thought to remind you.
Honestly, if mine tested fine I would have put them back on and tracked down the issue.
If you're planning on modding the car more than moderately or prefer 5spd I would have preferred to have put the money towards the swap or something else, food or rent or something :icon_razz
It kind of...
Ok, first off there is plenty of information on this swap. The most common supra mk3 swap out there. Check the stickies in the 7m technical discussion sections.
Second, this is the wrong section.
Go to www.4cefed.com and there is a pretty complete list of what you'd need on there.
His car is an 89, he won't need to change the crossmember check to see if your mounts are round and you'd have the cirrect x-member on there already.
You can then either use stock jza70 mount brackets (ones that came on jz supras, not same as 1jz chaser/soarer ones) or if you can't find a set...
I don't want to hijack but I think this would fit in here, especially since it was mentioned. I didn't think it would make sense to make a thread to ask about the high pressure side right under this one.
16x1.5 is the size for the fitting that goes into the rack? How about the pump?
I ask...
His car is an 89, as long as he has the round style motor mounts he can use stock jza70 brackets or randy's brackets. The same mounts will work, not the brackets though.
I say go with a BIC I do not have the personal experience, but there are less canadian companies making things for the mkiii, I heard all great things about his products. Not just good, but great.
Sound, fitment, quality. He makes the original goodies that people ask for. No to mention he is...
Regardless of the last two remarks, I think you should keep your setup if you like it. Just don't be a nuisance to people in areas where it shouldn't be expected. i.e not so public areas.
This IS the audio section, only suggestion I have are dynamat or something like it and things that rattle...
It's somewhat better but try using capitalization and pargraphing.
Anyways, if you're going to go turbo, you can get upgraded pump for slightly more. Few extra bucks spent now become a few saved later ;)
It's normal depending on how much you were leaning. The gas gauge won't react rigt away to compensate for sloshing gas in the tank. But leaning and staying at a constant 'lower level' it will show it. As you got out of the lean and continued to drive for another 30 seconds it went back up right?
Wait until you have the money and build a turbo engine. Whether mild, modest or heavy. Don't go into it without double your expected budget.
If the car is in good running shape, enjoy it for now. If not, give attention to what needs it.
Let the cap off of the tank and open the flap if it is. Put a gerry can to catch what comes out and forget about it. That or plug it with something appropriate it.
