Hello, sorry for late reply. I haven't been around these parts for ages. The gasket held up fine for 3 weeks, and then a rod broke. So I sold the whole thing.
I'm making the list(s) for others aswell since I couldn't find any out there (trying to be usefull here ;)). I will probably go ,020 over and the gasket I know will have to be thicker.
I will also make a list with what is needed for higher horsepower gains aswell, so I can compare horsepower...
Since I have a spare engine at hand I thought I might aswell build it.
So I decided I would make a list of what is needed so I can get a budget ready. The first list I'm making will be for stock and near-stock builds.
Bottom end (prices taken from toyodiy.com)
ALL TOYOTA, COMPLETE...
Need a new one as mine has freeplay both hot and cold. So I'm wondering if there are any choices besides stock?
I would like to keep it belt driven for simplicity and "stock look", so electrical is out of the option.
Tried searching but only got LS400 clutch for the 2JZ and Taurus...
Sorry for necroing, but the problem is still the same so might aswell use it further on.
Ok. So after loads of waiting I finally managed to get another ISCV. I plugged it into the connector with my current still fitted on. The valve on the "new" ISCV moved outwards and inwards when I shut...
It is not like 10W will instantly kill your engine. But over time wear and tear will be higher compared to lesser grades of oil.
My Supra manual say I can use 5W-30. So, "motor was not designed for such oil" statement fails!
It is said that because it is thinner, it is also thinner at startup which reduces wear and tear. It also gets into optimal thickness. Higher grade oil is too thick at normal driving conditions.
Thin = higher flow, higher flow = more oil moved, more oil moved = cooler temperatures?! :P...
I am using Castrol W5-40 at the moment. I used Castrol EDGE 10W-60 before. Using the other because I am only going to use it for about 1000 KM (thats the time I have to pop the engine up again and re-torque head studs) before I do a full engine flush and refill with Castrol EDGE 10W-60.
EDIT...
