Yeah just get a pair of good knock sensors and if that doesn't work then must be a lousy wiring try getting a wire tester or multi-metre and test if the KS wires are live or not. check the connectors on the KS something might be loose.
Stick with the standard. You might get a bit of cold start issues later on :P (well that was with the platinums spark plugs I ran back then)
Depending on how much boost you're running and whether you get spark blow out only then should you consider gaping your spark plugs down.
Well this an interesting nut case.
I'd start of by the ECU,(provided that it's a stock ecu but your sig says otherwise) Try getting another ecu see if it does the samething. If it does, then it's the ECU. If not move to phase two.
Check your sensors, Try buying or atleast repair all the...
I believe your friend is basing this suggestion for higher engine speeds and larger throttle openings. Anyway the reason for advancing timing is because you are burning more fuel so complete combustion takes longer.
So by advancing the timing you're making the spark event occur sooner. By...
So lets just say you decided to keep your mkIII as your weekend warrior.
For me I wouldn't mind the R35... or an Rx7 as stock to the bone for my daily.
I find that the smaller cars/hatch backs are a hell lot easier to drive in as well.
Some people used a press to push all the gears out the shaft and the usual snap ring tools IIRC and magnet would be needed for those lock balls. TSRM is a great guide though.
I believe the relationship with Flow to lag, and power potential increases as the list goes down. So whatever is suitable for you. I think ported S cover is referred to an anti surged compressor housing...
I reckon option B or E would be suitable for your goals.
Update. I only suggested...
Appearntly they come off "any 4G63 DOHC from Galant GSR/VR4 to EVO0-3 and 4G93 DOHC" As for wasted spark.. no idea sorrie buddy... and don't think they're an inbuilt ignited seeing that I still have my external ignitor connected.
Did you test it with another AEM EMS, incase it wasn't a faulty ecu?? because according to your story everything seemed to work ok until you put the kit in.
It could be possible that your heatercore might play a role (but I wouldn't count on it)
You did mentioned about your heater not working anymore??
I think you have a possessed supra :P
If worst comes to worst I reckon ripping the head off would be the last resort.
