That's what I'm considering, too. If I don't get enough airflow there for it, I figure I'll put a fan (or two) on it, but it gets so hot, I don't think it will require anywhere near the airflow the radiator needs.
Well, right at the moment I'm looking for the price on a timing belt cover, but I'd rather have something I can check personally, rather than send you a message whenever I'm in need!
That's where my oil cooler is, and I'm going to move it. It's so damn hot, it stops the radiator from cooling properly in hot weather... and hot weather here is average where you are.
Well, there's always the old deathtraps... like the Ford Pinto, where if you get hit in the rear, the doors jamb and the fuel tank ruptures into the passenger cabin, where there are plenty of live wires to cause a short / spark.
I drove one of those for years.
Most of the ridiculous shit that's done to cars in North America is hack jobs done on the cheap. Japan's car culture is entirely different... if you're going to spend a shitload of money on a vehicle, which they do, and you're only going to keep it for a few years before you get rid of it and...
Crankwalk is easy to spot... have a buddy hop in the car and work the clutch, while you hold on to the front main damper pulley. With the engine off, of course. If the crank is moving, you'll feel it.
How much boost are you running? Most cooling systems have more pressure than the intake...
Also, I hate to say it, but the stock temp gauge isn't very accurate except at the bottom and the top. Everything in the middle, well, I could guess a number with better accuracy.
Just don't turn the head upside down with the cams out...
The buckets are part number 13751-16010, should be about $12 from the dealer. Or find someone around you with some spares... I've got lots, if you were local you could have 'em for free.
