We do get together, usually monthly. See ohiosupras.org. Advertise to the other Supra owners you see, too.

Help! Oil pressure and VPC issues

What is the a/f ratio? Sounds like it's just too rich, which is pretty much what you'll get with 720's at anything resembling a decent fuel pressure and no other device but the VPC to trim the afm signal. Add in the s-afc in the wiring AFTER the VPC, ie the grey wire coming out of the VPC...

Help! Oil pressure and VPC issues

Ahh good call on the F-Con wire. Found some of my old VPC crap. I have a hand drawn wiring diagram somewhere too. http://www.jobe.cc/92turbo/OLD/VPC

Who is using the AEM EMS?

How was it modified? Can you post up the map along with what you have changed (ie ran the speed density macro), what sensors you have and how they are wired (ie to what pins)?

Help! Oil pressure and VPC issues

I've been trying to find a pic of it but cannot. I know for sure no wires had to be spliced. It was literally plug and play (I have hard wired VPC's too). There were three wires connected together with a resistor between the two large ECU connectors - this locks the factory IAT sensor to 70F...

Damn did I make a mess changing LSD fluid

Hose/funnel through the wheel well is 10x's easier. I'd rather drive to the store to buy the hose vs using a turkey baster I already had. Probably would take less time too.

Help! Oil pressure and VPC issues

Where in Ohio are you? What brown wire are you talking about? I had the HKS harness with my VPC and there wasn't any splicing required. What I can say is the problem is in your wiring. The symptoms are what happens with the ECU does not receive an AFM signal. Also like others have said...

    Unknown Antifreeze loss, Turbo?

More likely it's pushing coolant out of the overflow or burning it through the HG. Otherwise you would have to crack the cast turbo center section. I recommend you pressurize the cooling system and check for leaks. Maybe it's your heater core or some other hose or line you cannot see.

    Valve to piston clearance

Too many variables for our ESP (Extra Supra Perception) abilities to tell, clay it. Don't forgot to put a HG between the block and head when you do.

    Chevy SB/BB valve springs.

Don't forget about boost pressure assisting with float on the intake valves. ;-) I've run the 975 springs for 5+ yrs now. 1.5mm over valves, 25+psi, 7200 rpm. I had my stock 92T springs tested at 65kmi and they were weak.

are 91's and 92's more resistent to blown headgaskets? BHG

My 92T was blown at 56k (3 days after I bought it) and obviously leaking for a while before that. The stock 58ft-lb torque is not enough to reach elastic tension with the stock bolt.

Damn did I make a mess changing LSD fluid

You got it, route the hose up through the wheel well. :-)

    That damn hardpipe.

    Sure you can.

    That damn hardpipe.

Plus by building your own you can route them away from the exh manifold. :-)

+How-To Walbro Install with 12VRelay all in one thread with Pics

One suggestion, you want to put the fuse as close to the battery as possible. You have it too far away IMO and have routed through a metal body panel. Any accident in that area could crush the metal enough to slice through the wire causing a short. Also you want to make the fuse itself easily...

Did i find a very rare supra?

People can change their minds whenever they want - regarding the lady deciding it was a gas hog and too fast for her. Gas is much more expensive now then when she bought it. She could have made that decision months or years ago but is too lazy to do anything about it. Same thing with it being...

+7M-GTE Engine removal in 49 easy steps.

Nice, I wrote a major portion of this along with Scott Mech and a few others on the supras.com mailing list many years ago. I have an updated and corrected version somewhere.

    BHG: How bad?

Assuming you do not have a solvent tank or don't plan on rebuilding the head, get the major stuff off with some sort of scraper. I usually use a putty knife. Be careful not to gouge, esp the aluminum head. Keep the blade angle low and flat with the surface you are scraping. Once the major...

    BHG: How bad?

#1 was leaking. Look at the compression ring around the cylinder and how far it has pushed out to the exhaust side as well as the condition of the rings for the coolant brows, again on the exhaust side. Note some of the gasket has eroded between the two. Also look at the piston top and the...
