For the amount of hassle it is to change the crank why put in something that is really in unknown condition and take the chance of having to do it again.

You need fuel, air and spark basically for a engine to run.
If you have Aeromotive FPR then it should be easy to see if it's getting fuel cause its has a gauge on it that shows the pressure. You can also crack the return line on the fuel rail and see if fuel squirts out...

Most mods we do if tuned correctly should not affect the mileage all that much under just normal driving conditions.
Unless you are running crazy cams or lower compression it should stay generally the same or get better.
