What was some of the improvements you noticed over VPC vs standalone.
Your interior looks great. Glad to here it is holding up good.
Did the seatbelt bar improve the stiffness of the car?
Thanks.
Sorry to say it sounds like you have "rod knock". You should check your oil. Probably low. Good to know while trying to find out what caused your issue. Your engine needs to come out and tear down and inspect. Then you have info to make real estimate. Some people go 2jzgte or 1 j at this...
I like things cold but I use heat when cold outside 60 degrees or colder. My trans tunnel get warm on drives over an hour. Especially 80 MPH highway runs for several hours tunnel get very warm almost hot.
I plan to do so second skin spray on heat barrier and install thermal barrier as well...
I prefer to replace the rod with spun bearing. Some are ok with re size of connecting rod. I am not. I do not see repeat failure that some see during rebuilds. BTW Toyota select fit bearing allow for "blue print tolerances" From the factory. Even select fit pistons. IMO Good luck.
Every car is different with air screw setting. The screw allows air to pass through AFM and it is not measured by the ECU. The o2 sensor will see and trim fuel accordingly. I would make note of in or out for better idle. Make sure you counts your turn so you can start off with what you...
I would get new tuner. If he wants to go for 30 psi he does not no about the turbo you are using and 7mgte. Your injectors are to small for 30 psi and E85 IMO. Good luck and don't let some some so called "tuner" blow up your new engine. IMO.
Sorry to hear about your turbo. I would spend...
You actually could do what you want with select fit bearings. Like you said each size is a very small difference. I would start with the sizes the factory started with. I prefer math over plasigauge. Either get and inside micrometer or snap gauges to use with the micrometer to measure...
I never said set "new" to min. I said new set to middle of spec. Then you say it would cause a valve to hang open or have 0 lash. The only way your story would be true is if .008" went away. We both know that can't happen. Maybe you just missed my last sentance on post 14 . Sorry.
The word "running" meant a valve adjust as part of maintenance. "New" as is a new setup with new valves or valve job. I stick by what I said. IF your valve "sink" more than .002" you are doing something wrong. A 7M set at min valve clearance specs are quiet. IMO
So 1j is saying that valves "sinks" .008" I don't thinks so. Maybe .001" or .002" . Ill stick with setting a running engine to .006" on intake and .008" on exhaust and .008"in and .010"ex on new set up.
Sometime it helps to rotate the axle stub 1/2 turn it is very hard to remove with slide hammer. The "c" clip can be hanging down do to gravity if the open end is at the top. This small difference can make it hard to remove. IMO.
Hey OP I think you need to raise fuel pressure. My car runs 2.7 bar or about 38 psi with vac hose installed at cold idle. Just a thought.
Also are sure ignition timing is correct? Your engine vacuum seems low. Cold start I am at 17" then 20" once warm.
Would not be a bad idea to back...
My concerns is why did he not use engine? Any warranty comes with engine? I have had poor results from buying someone else "unfinished projects" . They usually get rid of because of the lingering questions in the back of their head. Does he have parts and machine shop invoices? It should...
The stock air box flows well at the power level you want. A full 3" exhaust with elbow is a good investment. I have heard the Driftmotion cat back to have good sound but not to loud or droans. Important IMO. I like turbo elbow and down pipe instead elbow built into downpipe. It makes for...
Should start with a manual boost controller and gauge first. Set it about 1 psi below fuel cut in top of third gear. Try and find cool am or pm for max air density.
Get a install Trans go shirt kit. Change filter and fluid. Add a transmission cooler and have fun.
