I feel a big part of repeat oil leaks stem from using aftermarket seals. From what you said you replaced cam cover gaskets and cam seals. No mention of the resealing the cam caps with FIPG. Probably all old and brittle. Also the cam cover gaskets call for two small dabs of FIPG on each...
I hope he would have told you the "big issues" before he sold you the car. This is why I prefer to get an unmodified car to start with. Sometimes you get what they cannot fix.
16 ish AFR is not far from 14.7 AFR. Is the ecu set up for o2 sensor input. I heard some tuners don't use 02...
You need a trans temp gauge if you don't have one . Long "brake torqueing" really raises trans fluid temp quickly. ATF fluid looses it lubrication ability at geometric rate as temp raises. I feel Amsoil ATF is some off the best on the market at a fair price. It looses the lubrication ability...
I would change the spark plug first before any more tuning. Get several sets of plugs to change out while tuning. A fuel fouled plug may not look to bad but will cause drive ability problems that is caused by the plugs. .020 is to small of a gap for you airflow ability, IE spark blowout...
The input shaft will have a little movement. The front part of input shaft is supported by the pilot bearing.
Make sure your mounting surfaces are clean. I would get new bolts OEM or ARP and make sure you use a torque wrench to tighten.
I feel the best way to sell a rebuilt engine for a good price is to leave it in car. This way the potential buyer can drive the car to see there are no problems with rebuilt engine. I am always leary of buying a "just rebuilt engine for sale" If it is just rebuilt why not use it is my theory...
Whats the big deal of hating the OEM steel line. If you do your work properly it should be years before you would need to remove the line anyway. So the nuts are hard to get to. Buy more tools. I personally pull the nuts and studs off turbo before turbo and or head removal. BTW use...
Talk about recall I see the dealer doing Subaru head gaskets 10 to 1 of what Toyota ever did on supras . I don't hear anyone in a uproar about that. In the subi world Yet people still complain about 25 year car. Most head gastket jobs fail due to poor workmanship and lack of knowledge.
BTW...
^^^ 3P's is correct with AFM being primary input to ecu. THW second and all other sensors minor input changes. Why not hook everything up the way it supposed to be before trying to start. Have faith if you follow the repair manual that it will run properly.
