After 3 months in the bodyshop, car is back!

If IJ had been a grumpy young man instead of a grumpy old man I would've opted for post-it notes. Alas, I had to make the sign big enough for him to read! So whats wrong with tan lines ?

After 3 months in the bodyshop, car is back!

I have an automatic. Jeff at Champ told me they were discontinued. I figured that would be my most reliable source. Here are close-up pics of the pinstriping added to the body molding. If you look closely, you will see a tiny black stripe right on the very top of all the molding...

That would be Dude-ette to you. Ok, so there are more issues here than can be addressed by this thread :icon_razz I try not to make the girls look twice. Like to make the guys look once as I pass 'em. :naughty:

    Losing Interest

I know it sounds silly, but get the body work done on it (if not already). A new paint job and boom, its a real attention getter. I get lots of comments on my car and I've had it back for only a coupla weeks. Yea, mine's pretty stock, but so what? I had a late model TA try to leave me behind...

    Tn people?

Don't you guys ever get together for one of those car shows in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg? I'm headin' that way this fall, trying to hit a car show (shouldn't be too hard). Hope to see some other supra owners there..

After 3 months in the bodyshop, car is back!

Will get a close-up pic up this weekend. Would like to hear opinions on it! I paid half of what you were quoted, I pulled all the lights, molding, spoiler, and door panels off myself. I had the door jams painted, alot of rust repaired around the windshield. I had replaced the hatch, the...

After 3 months in the bodyshop, car is back!

Well, the window trim was pretty sorry looking, polishing didn't help. I felt I had nothing to lose. We'll see. The two targa seals for the targa itself were just too long ! After trimming they are flush with the seals on the car. I apparently didn't put enough sealant on the seals...

After 3 months in the bodyshop, car is back!

Yikes! Four to six week job turned into three months! But my car is back and it looks great (these pics aren't hiding anything!): The color is what Toyota calls a white pearl crystal. It is found on the latest toyotas and lexus. A better description would be its a white metallic. It...

What is meant to be here!

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t269/pinklightfever_jdog/TurboA01006.jpg Most impressed that the turbo-A comes with a half-gallon of vanilla ice cream. Can't believe no one else noticed.. What can I say? I love ice cream!

    my slow 2j vs solstice

Unfortunately its true. Dodge put out a turbo version that is not badged as neon, but is a neon chassis and body. I believe it is badged "SRX". Remember, I was running a stock setup. The cat alone probably cost me the race. :3d_frown: Did I say "race"? I meant quick run to the grocery store..

    my slow 2j vs solstice

Hey, at least you didn't get beat by a neon. I got beat in my stock 91, starting from a really fast roll of 70 mph. He didn't pull away as fast as I thought he would. We did 2 runs. A little of this, little of that, and perhaps my 90 will make amends. Ok, I KNOW it will make amends :) Racing...

    automatic turbo supras

Automatics also come with ECT - electronically controlled transmission. You can change to more aggressive shifting by hitting a button. Pretty cool, and you can really tell a difference between the two modes. But, the biggest advantage of an auto is you can talk on the phone or hold a pop...

Who has an addiction with dumping wayy too much $$$ into their supra

Oh of course. A supra is a never-ending project, isn't it? The interior is just real crappy, but I probably won't do the seats til next year. Its in desperate need of a new exhaust system, that should happen this year. Needs a new wiring harness (whose doesn't?). A good tune-up sooner than...

    N.KY Supra Club

I'll be organizing a bluegrass club once I get my car back. Its really hard to motivate myself to get the club going when I don't have my car. :icon_cry: Anyways, I'll be posting info on the regional forums hopefully sometime in August. I know of 4 or 5 supras in Lex area alone.

another supra has been lost, i am sorry :(

I'm very sorry to hear about your car, and I am glad to hear you are ok. The cars are just objects, easy to replace. I've had the rear end slip out from under me before, I try not to drive my sup in the rain if I can help it. I talked to my car insurance agent and she said to call her when my...
