Who has an addiction with dumping wayy too much $$$ into their supra

Cars not back from the shop yet..HOPEFULLY next week! Last time I saw it it was under a dull grey coat of primer, cooking in the sun. I pretty much lost half of my summer driving time. I hope the wait is worth it! Then you will see pics of the car topless, not ME! I know what I typed!!

Who has an addiction with dumping wayy too much $$$ into their supra

I figure its about $10k for a good running supra - third for the car itself, third for the body work, and the last third for the engine. And this is just basic upgrades and performance. Whats nice is I control how much I want to spend and when. I get to choose which upgrades are done. Still, its...

what member do you think has the nicest MKIII ?

Here we are at the Radisson (indy meet) parking lot: The car looks black in this picture. His white turbo is to the left (another nice car, but modded), and my white turbo is on the other side. I forgot which SM member owned the silver car (sorry!).

what member do you think has the nicest MKIII ?

Unfortunately, we really need two categories of cars here - the super-modified and the stock. In the category for "stock", I vote for Allen's (mk3forme) blue 87 NA. Very few mods, very clean. It was by far the nicest MKIII at the Indy2008 meet. Here's a pic of him with the car at the meet...

    What are your Supra goals?

So I'm probably going to open a can of worms here by making this observation, but it seems like either people LOVE the 7m or hate 'em. Is the 7m a good engine or not? I know, toyota half-assed the hg, but otherwise, what is it about the engine that makes it so unreliable? Not counting normal...

Thinking of making T-shirt and/or decals

Damn Bor, supermodels got nothin' on you!! I think you've found your calling!

    What are your Supra goals?

What Shaeff said, right down to the last line. I won't be hitting 450hp with my automatic, but thats ok. It would be nice to take a day trip without loading my back seat up with extra oil, coolant, tranny fluid, hammer, wrenches, etc. What I want is a brand new supra. So mine's at the body...

WOW you guys have to see this

If I had the money, I would buy it just to rescue it.. Then I'd part it out just to see exactly who on SM would make an offer for that interior :naughty:

    Face to names

So this is why your car wasn't at the Indy meet?? You could've just Fred-Flintstoned it right on over!! Great pic - nice touch with the steering wheel Jon..

How dark are your windows Pics please

I know its illegal, but I knew someone who owned a tint shop that tinted his windshield. Just enough to knock down some of the UV rays. I would love to do this to keep the interior cooler and protect the dash on both my supra and altima.

Whats your fastest highway mph ??

130+ in my 91t, auto, not sure the dif, never checked it. It had the most accurate speedometer of any supra I owned. Totally stock including stock-size tires. Still had original suspension, although it was pretty soft. Regardless, the car handled very well. I was racing one of those crappy...

Rear spoiler brake light. How to replace diodes

I have the exact same issue with my spoiler (90t). I am going to try and fix it myself. Nothing to lose..

    Is the stock Anti-Theft Adequate?

Sure is! I'm certain every one of us has a story to tell about how well MKIIIs lock out their owners..:3d_frown: Saw a comedy skit once on "The Club" (SNL maybe?). It was literally a club sandwich, left in the driver's seat. The heat made the mayonnaise toxic. Thief couldn't resist eating the...

    Compatible parts from other Toyotas...

I had these type of nozzles on my chevy tahoe. They sucked in the wintertime, always icing up. But who drives their supra in the winter? :naughty:

    Compatible parts from other Toyotas...

We're all grown-ups here. For the most part. :) Unless you got that sucker going up in .351 seconds or somethin'. Then I can see your point. RedGreen is classic! Lots of great solutions for modding vehicles of all kinds. Personal favorites include the pick-up truck with the driver's seat in...

    Compatible parts from other Toyotas...

Your current 89+ can do auto up AND down. On the window button itself, you will find a little plastic tab that you can brake off with your fingers. Ta-da, auto up and down. I just did this trick on my car since the button for "up" was broken completely off. I credit Allen, aka mk3forme for...

    Heat

Yep, same issue on both my automatics. I haven't yet, but plan to get a tranny cooler. See thread: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73628&highlight=transmission+cooler Haven't priced one out yet. My parking brake gets so hot you can't touch it. On the other hand, I don't...

ROTM 2008 MAY WINNER: Tanya -AKA- TANYA

Congrats Tanya! Nice to see a woman win ROTM! Especially one that rebuilds a sup rather than junking it. White rules MKIII's, and black rules MKII's (IMHO of course!). t.

Why is my speed-o below 0???

My car does -5 mph sittin' still, but its a feature. Take apart the dash, and you will find it very easy to reset the needle without even removing it. I moved mine because my speedometer is off by so much that it was getting me into trouble. Once you reset it back to zero, I highly recommend...
