I think a JT62 might fit the bill for you. Bolts on the stock manifold and spools pretty damn fast for a turbo that fast-about the same as a SP61GT bolt on kit but with more top end power and more reliability due to the newer design. At 15 psi it should hit 400 at the wheels easy and the fuel...
"resurface them like I have mine, they weren't decked and run a 2.0 gasket. Remember when the stock is compressed you are at 1.37mm so with a 2.0 you'll be fine AND you'll have lower compression which in turns makes more boost, with the right tune of course haha "
I did that for years and ran...
I think I paid 1500 years ago for mine but kept the stock valves(checked,resurfaced,3 angle valve job, portmatched to honed manifolds). Mine was done by Stve Hoff who did a lot of 1J/2j/7M heads
After years of abuse my stock 7M let go tonite. Have oil everywhere. I can't complain. 9 years of abuse and 100s of passes I am sure I broke a ring or two tonite at 24 psi and race gas/meth.
I will pull and take apart. What pistons and rings are decent for my power level(low 500RWHP)?
Been running the HKS stuff for years(GCC,Fcon,VPC,F con fuel mixture switch etc....)
No problems running a TT pump and 550cc since 2001. Car runs 11s on pump gas.
I have had many of them-great cars!!!! I really miss my blue 1986 Mr2. Best car I ever owned
The one above with the supercharger emblem is a JDM SC.
85s are the best handling hands down stock.
I have a mint 88 SC. I added an 89 rear swaybar,89 door handles,86 n/a cams,ported TB,K&N...
I too have new shocks with tems and love it. My car is at stock ride height and I upgraded to HKS TEMS for full control.
For drag racing I notice a big big difference on soft when I launch with drag radials! People wonder I can hit low 1.7 sixty foots on 17" Nittos. This is a big reason why.
