    flushing crankcase

I've flushed several engines with kerosene, all I've ever done is add a litre to the existing oil and let it idle for an hour or so. Cleaned up more than a few glazed bores/stuck rings this way.

formula SAE car...warping the block by forcing it in...

Shim/elongate the mounting points on the chassis as needed. Most all motorcycle engines are stressed members in motorcycles these days, they'll handle a fair whack of load on them, but why risk it?

    Budget NA build

That's the general idea, will weld it to something that will fit snugly inside the tailpipe, like a welch plug with a hole in it or something.

    Budget NA build

Thanks for the title change. I've killed 80% or so of the drone with an additional resonator just behind the cat, working on various tailpipe mods now to keep flow and reduce resonance. I have a dual outlet rear muffler which really isn't helping me, every dual outlet muffler I've had on a car...

    WTH Forest Green 87 MA70L ???

I've seen a few Aus delivered cars in that colour over here, from around the late 80's/early 90's. Notably Lexuses and Cressidas, but still a rare colour.

    Why did it leak?

Just a quick note, I found another place water enters the boot on these cars and it seems undocumented on the forums. The hatch seal, where it turns the lower corner above the tail lights, shrinks and rolls over with age. On my car, water is clearly visible on the seal area when I lift the hatch...

    Budget NA build

The exhaust noise is quite difficult to sort out on these cars, far harder than anything else I've owned. They definitely make a nasty drone at 2k rpm, but I think I have that sorted out. I wonder if it's a long stroke engine thing? Bear in mind I did drive the car with most of the exhaust done...

    Budget NA build

Anyone who says extractors and exhaust don't make much of a difference to an NA Supra either did it wrong, or is full of shit! This thing has a heap more available power, it hasn't stopped raining so I can't tell how much more, but it is severely traction limited in the rain. Bear in...

    What are the limits?

The NA is a rugged drivetrain, the gearbox lives behind V8's in other vehicles, the diffs aren't troublesome in the slightest. Enjoy the fine car Toyota built years ago, when they were truly world leaders in engineering and reliability. If the age of teh car worries you, spend money on maintenence.

Would you guys pay US$540 incl postage for this?

Wow. Third identical thread in three separate forums. You really are desperate for attention, aren't you?

    Why did it leak?

Looks pretty normal to me. As to why they leak, I've seen many finger tight tail light fasteners on many older cars, I suspect the gasket shrinks with age. As also mentioned, a missing stud will do it, tail lights definitely change shape when they age as well, no stud allows deformation at that...

Hasn't been an issue in the many years I've run wrap on many other vehicles........

    exhaust question

I understand young people's fascination with turbos, any idiot can add boost till they melt pistons and look like a hero doing it. But those of us old enough to remember know there's something really nice about a well modded NA engine. The broad power and torque curves, much more user friendly...

    exhaust question

Extractors are what the rest of the world call headers. The brand of "header" I have is MPH. Here is a link to one of their Ebay auctions, like I said, these headers dropped on, unlike pretty much any set I've used before. They literally just slid onto the studs on the head, no interference...

I had a whole heap of that extrusion left over from an aborted attempt at owning an Alfa, so it seemed natural to use it. Here is my O2 sensor solution:

    Group A Supra race car

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the race car's ride height is not too far off stock, maybe a 30mm drop at most?

    Budget NA build

I've put a sensor bung in the first collector on the front header tubes, should get nice and hot there, plus gets to sample three cylinders for mixture. I considered putting a heated sensor way down at the six into two collector, but there's just not enough room. I'm pretty confident it'll be...

    exhaust question

A hotdog is just a lump in the pipe, a resonator is a small open chambered muffler. They both do different jobs as far as resonance goes. I have a set of extractors on my car right now that needed zero mods to fit and fit perfectly. Allow me to show you: As for the age card, I seriously doubt...
