First oil change after rebuild- health of engine ? [Pics]

What did you do on the rebuild? The black spots on the ground are just carbon from the exhaust that's mixed with condensation in the exhaust system. Exhaust needs to be warmed up so any water evaporates out. By the way, used engine oil is very toxic, try to avoid handling it with your bare skin.

    zero compression in cyl 4????

Low reading next to a high reading usually indicated a cylinder to cylinder leak.

    Internet Justice at it's best!

Wow. Nerds with social disorders arguing amongst each other about nothing. Intellectual giants there. Who gives a rat's ass?

    how to remove steering stoppers???

Please ensure the steering linkage does not go over centre after removing the stoppers. It causes many bad things when this happens.

    RB26 ITBs too small!

And this is why the OEM engine designers use a plenum intake, it allows each cylinder to see the full flow from one large throttle body.

Cold Start Injector Time Switch cots $148 from Toyota

Any Bosch CSI switch will work if it is the same temperature. The Toyota system is just a licenced Bosch L Jet system with a substantially better ECU.

Adjusting the power steering pump for lower pressure, has anyone done it?

You need to modify the pressure relief valve on the rack. All you are doing by dumping pressure at the pump is making the pump lag behind the rack's needs. I've been there and done it with various steering boxes on older vehicles. Lowering pump output pressure causes all sorts of fun side...

Impossible, it seems like my car will never go straight... Help! Please :(..

ABS systems, all of the ones I have ever worked on, shut down if there is a sensor or power supply/earth problem and revert to normal braking systems. The only way an ABS system will cause braking pull is if one of the valves in the ABS pump physically jams, and then you'd have other symptoms as...

    It should start.... but won't.

Pull codes. If crank signal weak etc it will set a code.

    Budget NA build

Sure do, only idling though. It has a nasty drone at 2000 rpm, nothing I can't fix with some stainless steel wool and a broom handle. It will also quieten down with some carbon build up.

    Budget NA build

I received the pacesetter exhaust in the mail today, six days from ordering in the US to delivery, fantastic service! The Pacesetter exhaust is a mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust, made out of aluminised steel (an anticorrosive treatment). As you can see, it fits really well: It also sounds really...

    how much negative camber

-0.5 degrees is about the maximum you'll want on a street car. Anything more than that and tramlining becomes a serious issue, as does horrendous tyre wear.

    It should start.... but won't.

I've seen spark that looked adequate out of the combustion chamber but wouldn't start the engine. You need a surprisingly strong spark to start a cold engine, it needs to ignite a very rich mixture (and overcome plugs wet with fuel). I've also seen old plugs that would arc straight to ground...

    It should start.... but won't.

If your plugs are wet with fuel you have a spark issue. At the very least, with plugs wet with fuel, you should get ignition, whether it be backfires or whatever. Cold start injector doesn't come in to play until temps are quite low.

    ways to clean water jackets

Stretch a piece of pantyhose over the top radiator inlet, then put the hose back on. When you start the engine, all that crap will be trapped there, so stop engine and clean it off a few times over the first 10 mins. Just fill the engine with the cheapest engine oil you can find that meets the...

    300Kmh Speedometer Gauge?

    JZ/M exhausts

Will a JZA70 exhaust fit up well enough to an MA70 Supra? I know the engine end will be different, but are the mufflers etc in the same positions, and is the exhaust manifold on the same side? Reason I ask is there are plenty of good used stainless JZA70 exhausts around here at the moment. I...

best cost effective ways for stripping paint on the car?

Knock it back with 80 grit on an orbital sander, then step back to 120 then 180, finish with 240 just as you are back to the metal. Avoid stripper unless you are removing whole panels, too easy for it to go wrong.
